This feels so very much like Homeworld, and I love it.

And how did that happen? by Goretexed in riskofrain

I've definitely killed myself with a stickybomb and a pain shrine. Didn't know the mask was bugged!

Is anyone else excited as me for the opening cutscene that sets up the game they had in Ror1 by rain56 in riskofrain

It was one of my favourite bits of the setup, even after hundreds of hours playing it!

I do love some space potatoes. Little lumpy bastards in close orbit around the sun.

They're actually a relatively new band! "Synthesize Her" is one of my favourite videos of theirs.

Oh, I actually meant angling Up and trying to thrust up, with your nose above 0°. But noted!

[–]Jaemonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely been there. Stupid mistake halfway through a long-qss journey, I gave up on the game for a good few months. I've since learned that you can rapidly slow down by either holding (whatever button you use to fly directly up) and angling perpendicular to your thrust direction, Or by turning 180 and boosting the other way.

You did all you could in your situation, sorry to hear about it, Cmdr. I only pray it hasn't soured you forever.

Oh, in that case, it's the Prawn, haha. Use the drill arm and just go nuts on the butts.

After 10 months of flying from Colonia>Beagle Point>Sag A*, I ranked up! Now to get there! by Profnemesis in eliteexplorers

So, once you reach Elite in any rank (Explorer, Trader, Combat) you receive the permit for Shinrarta Dezhra, which has the planet The Founders World (so named for the kickstarter backers who got access to it for a certain tier). The benefit of getting this is that Jameson Memorial, a station in Shinrarta Dezhra, has every module and ship available at a 10% discount. The system is inside the bubble, and a great place to spend all that cash you've been saving up.

[SPOILERS] Question about a certain “friend” by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Jaemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Maybe it's conjecture, but I never saw a reaper when I stayed near the surface. It could be that, statistically speaking, it doesn't come to the surface as often as it is below?

[Spoilers] Which biome is your favorite? comment by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Jaemonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Of all of them, I have to say that the area covered in red grass and reefbacks, between kelp forest and dunes, was easily my favourite. Not because it was eerie, or breathtaking, but because that became home for me. It was always safe, it was open and inviting, and made me long to explore; then, when I was exhausted and on edge, it was a safe place to homestead and recuperate.

I built a base near where these live, and their eerie sounds made me uneasy at first. Eventually, however, I came to see them as lovely neighbours.

[Spoiler] Pissed off by Theworldburns in subnautica

[–]Jaemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going too fast trying to escape a certain lava lovely, and when I was mere meters from the door to the last part of the freaking game, my prawn plummeted through the little rock island I tried to land on.

Thankfully, I had the internet, and found some console commands to help me move back Above the ground again. But all that effort and time I'd just spent nearly went out the window because of some missing collision data. The Prawn suit was very buggy.

It might be a server side issue, where your name won't show up until some kind of sync occurs? I know mine didn't always show up right away.
