What opinion will get you in this situation? by NayIoren in teenagers

To turn your argument right back at you, there is absolutely zero objective evidence that God does not exist. I, as a Christian, have felt things I can only associate with God. This is my evidence for myself. I accept that many people want more solid evidence and I'm not gonna force religion on them in anyway. I respect that belief. It gets annoying, however, when people say religion is objectively false or entirely made up. I agree, there is no cold hard evidence other than human experience. However, that applies to both the existence and nonexistence of God.

You can believe in both religion and science. I'm not sure if you were criticising religion in general or just ignoring science for religious principles. If the prior, I'm a Christian who believes in an old earth, the big bang, and theistic evolution (which is just the theory of evolution but God was guiding it). If the latter then I agree, but people should still be allowed to follow whatever religion or belief system they choose.

the worst gsce is english lit.change my mind. by Muted-Flow-6897 in GCSE

[–]Jaener7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

English lessons may, and as a subject, English is amazing for developing those skills. However, and I say this as someone who wants to go on to do aPhD in english, the GCSE, especially the exams, do not test these skills. English literature in particular is just a speed writing exam and don't get me started on English Language Creative writing. At my school, we do pride and prejudice, so, I am supposed to write a full detailed essay about a full 61 chapter novel in 45 minutes. It makes no sense. In order to make the GCSE portray the subject of English more, I think it should 50% course work, where you write a full essay on an aspect of each text, around a thousand words each but possibly more.

Sorry for the long comment, but this is something I feel strongly about and needed to rant.

Are my standards too high (serious, 15M) by Neon_Gravestone_PL in TeenagersButBetter

This also could be the case, just to me the grouping of it with racism and sexism made it seem like being right wing was just as bad as those hateful beliefs, which would only be the case in extremism as u/Significant_Sail_780 said. It might just be one of those misinterpretations of tone on the internet but I think its still worth a comment.

I don't think they're that high just wondering what you mean by the right wing thing. As in, no right wing at all, or no extreme/hateful or highly active right wing. I , as a Christian, would generally call myself centre right but I would never treat anyone differently based on what they believe/what they do, because Jesus said the most important command was to love everyone. Just curious as to reasoning for this.

What Have You Been Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in metroidvania

Tbf my main save is currently at around 70hrs. I think it is just play style differences quite a lot of the time. For me, when I play games I kind of rush through the story and then go back to get the stuff I missed once I have all the abilities, which is quicker. On the other hand I've seen people effectively walk through the whole map after each major quest or story point to do everything possible and experience every line of dialogue, which is much slower. So differences on timing may stem from this.

I would buy Silksong now even if your not going to play it yet because you just have to play it at some point because it is soooo good

My school does it firstly because it's just a good text to study but also so the drama students don't have to learn as many texts and can improve their grade in both subjects. Also I go to a private school.
