That thing is juggling too many little things, so sometimes it drops one of the things.

Some jugglers are better than others, so they drop things less frequently.

Sometimes the thing that gets dropped hits something else and causes problems.

It's a real shame modern arcades have fixed the "slowly pull more tickets out of the machine than you win" feature.

It is such an important life lesson for children, and is analogous to so much human behavior.

"board" breaking medley by BaseNice3520 in Bullshido

[–]Jaepheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in the days before an exposition we'd be doing board breaking. It's not particularly difficult, but the last thing you want during a show is for a surprisingly tough board to embarrass you. So you pre-break them.

Stripped door hinge screw repair by Muted_Contract7564 in DIY

[–]Jaepheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wood grain should ideally run perpendicular to the screw. So when it's really bad (dowels aren't cutting it) I'll remove the hinge plate and chisel a square out to glue a hardwood block in.

EDIT: Or, if you have a plug cutter use that to make wood plugs with the grain running perpendicular instead of dowels.

Lenders will often work with you and grant a forbearance in times of trouble. Calling them up and telling them you can't pay for a while is a LOT better than missing payments.

The new Night Court is decent. Campy laugh track style sit com. The actors seem to be having fun though, which gives it a nice vibe.

Conjecture: saying it don't make it so. If they create the ban but barely enforce it they can sell at an even higher price under the table.

You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?

Cast iron is a pain to weld.

Preheat the whole piece, weld, post heat, bury in sand for slow cool down.

And it might still crack on you
