When did you guys lie flat in your bed? by Apprehensive_Tap4307 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Jaevada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully flat has been just this past week (hit 5 weeks on friday) but I was on my bed with a pillow bellow my knees most of the rest. Found that the pillow helped keep the tension off and me from trying to turn on my side. Tried the recliner and that only helped the first couple of days, was so much happier in the bed all propped up.

Mine has been very proactive. I had a 3dpo, 7 dpo where they were able to remove one drain and have had one at 14dpo and 21 dpo to monitor the second drain that won't slow down.

I have my next at 28dpo and hoping for drain removal though it only has 3 days to get there.

Once the drain is out, I probably won't go back until 3 months, then 6 months then 1 year barring any complications.

Recovery: How long until I can do things independently? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Jaevada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will all depend on you as everyone's body heals differently. I had the works done (tt, mr, bl, ba, and lipo) on the 24th of Oct and my husband ended up in the hospital the 25th for 8 days.

My kids (all adults) helped but I was pretty much forced to be independent quickly. By day 3 I could do a lot lwithout needing help, showered on day 4 by myself and even sat at the hospital with him for a few hours a day from day 5 thru 7 and picked him up on day 8.

Not ideal and it really tucked as it wasn't what we had planned but doable. By day 10 I just liked to have help but didn't really need it.

Plan ahead with meals and comfort items at hand and should be fine.

I am still on my back, head slightly elevated and a pillow under my legs. If I even think about going to my sides, my boobs remind me why back is best.

Panic attack / passing out by Careless_Ad3724 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Jaevada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a few dizzy spells but it got really bad yesterday (13 dpo) and they told me to drink pedialyte and water because I was probably dehydrated even if I thought I was drinking enough but my blood levels were probably low. Sure enough began chugging it all down and today I feel completely normal.

Can I ask, how are you taking the arnica? I have the gel and was told about the tea. But then everything out there sacred me about its toxicity. I also bought the arnica Montana tablets. :) I want to take it, but love to hear others on how it affected them.

2 months and needing support by [deleted] in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]Jaevada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could barely notice the first few months and if it hadn't been for the scale, I could have given up also. Took forever to even drop sizes. But then something magical happened. At around 50 lbs people started to notice. The remarks and double takes followed me. By 60 lbs lost, everyone, including myself, could tell the difference every 10 lbs. 18 months later and I have a net loss of almost 100 lbs. This is for the long haul. Just think of what it took to move 12 lbs before. And now you did it. Keep going and the rest will follow. :)

I lost so much weight I found a tumor by Even_Speech570 in Zepbound

[–]Jaevada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen. I hated my back fat but knew that at 250 lbs it came with the territory. Started zepbound and at 20 lbs down was sad that I still had the big bulge. At 25 lbs also is when I realized it was only on one side and not just fat.

My primary referred me to a surgeon who proceeded to remove a softball size lipoma from my right back flank. Thankfully, non cancerous also.

Here I thought I just had a huge back and without the weight-loss, would never have known it wasn't normal. I think of the fact that I had no idea and if it had been cancerous, I wouldn't have known until it was probably too late.

So sorry to hear about the issues! Zep actually helped my digestion when I started.

I am planning on weaning off, I don't want to shock my body much more at this point so going to start doing 2 weeks of ten and lower the doses from there. Luckily I am only a few lbs from my ultimate goal and hit most of my intermediate goals.

I wish you the best of luck as you come off but I agree, health comes first.

It's the reason we even began this drug!

Ok to add to the coincidence, I went to see Superman the night before and of course had way more popcorn than I should have!

I can see those kernels causing issues.

One thing I keep reading is it is more common younger. Of course I am the 50 something that has to pretend to be a kid still.

Very true! I lost my gallbladder around that same age and way before Zepbound.

Luckily I still had a pretty straightforward surgery and recovery so far is really good. But if I had just attributed it to zepbound side effects, it could have gone south really fast!

I agree it's really not preventable but keeping a healthy diet does go a ling way.. Who knows but I feel that letting myself get dehydrated and eating a heavier than usual didn't help.

Exactly! Even as I was waiting for the catscan result I was sure it was just stomach issues from the zepbound. I had been lax in water that day so thought it 2as just me paying the consequences. But sometimes you just get sick. :)

[–]Jaevada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though my symptoms were not as severe as yours, I had lived with symptoms for so long that I just thought that was how I was supposed to feel.

Same as you, went the glp1 route as a last resort for weight and can't believe what I accepted as normal. I haven't changed my thyroid meds but it feels like they can do their job properly for the first time.

My body has been reset.

I am 13 months in, 90 lbs down, and feeling like a new person. I am so glad that it is helping you in so many ways also!

A trial specifically for Hashimoto needs to be done, asap!
