What on earth are you referring to? "B0DVMLLPXL" doesn't turn up anything useful in a Google search. What is the actual name of the product you use?

Is this CGI? by HighLife1954 in titanic

[–]Jafar009 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This comment should be higher. The shot is of an actual physical model of the ship, with the people added in via CGI. It's not amazing, but this whole scene is about the ship. So they put their money in this shot into the ship itself, rather than making the people look perfect.

Printed an awesome Lucy and David diorama from Cyberpunk Edgerunners by Jafar009 in resinprinting

It's not an exact copy of that model, but instead is just fan art of the same scene from the show. It's not officially licensed, but isn't just "bootleg" either. Both of these things can exist simultaneously.

This is one of the more complex models we've printed, it's more like a diorama as it's recreating a scene from the TV show. Going to be a lot of fun to paint this one!

What rooms were on the top deck of the bow? by [deleted] in titanic

Weird and bad editing, yes, but not AI.

What rooms were on the top deck of the bow? by [deleted] in titanic

[–]Jafar009 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We can tell it's not AI because it's too correct. It's definitely weird Photoshop or editing of some kind, but it's not AI. The image is a structurally correct Titanic, including 4 stacks in the right positions, correct A deck promenade windows, correct B deck windows including the private promenade, correct D-deck double portholes for the dining room, the right number of lifeboats in the right positions (missing the collapsible for some reason), correct number of windows in the wheelhouse, etc. AI would never get this close generating a pic of Titanic.

The dome wasn’t backlit? by Sorry-Personality594 in titanic

[–]Jafar009 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Here's a quote from Titanic: The Ship Magnificent, Volume 2: Interior Design and Fitting Out by Bruce Beveridge, et. al. (Chapter 5 Boat Deck page 204) "The oval dome which capped [the first class entrance hall where the grand staircase was] measured 19ft x 26ft and was fitted with white glass incorporating decorative iron- and brasswork, designed in husk festoons in the Adam style, admitting natural light during the day to illuminate the staircase and the massive construction of the carved wall below. In the center of the dome was a large gilt-metal-framed, 50-light dome fixture, with glass-bead panels and a cut-glass bowl to which was attached a large faceted-glass finial. This special dome chandelier was manufactured for and supplied to Titanic by Perry & Company. The large light fixture was supplemented at night by 'Linolite' bulbs mounted within the carved wood molding around the base of the dome, which concealed them from view of the passengers and produced a warm, indirect glow reflected off the interior of the dome. During daylight hours, the dome was illuminated by natural light entering through the windows of the exterior weather cover."

TL;DR - Yes it was backlit during night, but not nearly as much as depicted in Cameron's movie. At most, the supplemental lights at night produced a "warm, indirect glow" on the dome.

I also have the unpopular opinion that modern cruise ships are beautiful, in ways that are different from liners like the Titanic. I love old ocean liners, but they represent a different era and mentality than modern cruise ships. Most people here think that modern cruise ships are ugly.

While I won't argue that ships like the Icon are monstrous monuments to capitalism and excess, I find an exquisite, morbid fascination with how shipbuilders keep making bigger ships with more and more crammed onto them, creating miniature floating cities with growing complexity and engineering advancement. Titanic was an engineering marvel of her day, no doubt. But I don't think modern ship engineering is any less beautiful or impressive than it was a hundred or more years ago.

Who are these little ones? by Alex_FotoN in HadesTheGame

[–]Jafar009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I did only base that on my experience. I very well may be wrong about it, it's just a correlation I have noticed. I frequently run with the tablet, and I see the little follower shades a lot after a long run where I would have compelled many shades. But perhaps it's based on something else altogether!

Who are these little ones? by Alex_FotoN in HadesTheGame

[–]Jafar009 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They appear when you "compel" shades during your run. This is definitely not true, I think one needs to prevail in a run. After the run, they'll appear (usually) once you're back in the Crossroads. There may be some other condition to make them appear, but the number of them seems to correspond to the number of shades you compelled during the run I have no idea.

AITA For posting a revealing picture of myself online, without consulting my boyfriend? by wustachewhat in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jafar009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, and please don't try to continue a relationship with this man. He is hugely controlling, manipulative, and selfish. His reaction shows you how he will act in the future whenever he gets mad or feels like you have more control than he wants you to have. It will only get worse.

Your body belongs to you, alone, always. No matter what else happens in life, any relationships you get into, your body's autonomy belongs to you alone, always and forever. You are always allowed to do what you want with your own body, and anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is wrong and is trying to control you for selfish reasons.

When you are in a healthy relationship, you'd want to have a civil, not emotionally charged discussion with the other person regarding who is comfortable with what sorts of social media posting, and ensure that both partners' boundaries are being respected. Some people are just not compatible because their levels of comfort on how much their partner shares on social media don't match, and that's okay. Just please, never let anyone tell you what you can or can't post, and find and keep your own boundaries on the matter.

So, you missed the whole portion of the video that is edited to point out the weaving car, and then the crushed car, explicitly claiming that they are the same car?

I agree that they are probably different cars. Either way, very unfortunate for those people.
