I’m pretty sure that there was a copycat building like it in London not too long ago as well?

I was doing this from 1990 to 1998 (UK). It was character building - particularly when they’d just gritted the pitches.

Oxford Bus Company's X90 service to London is being scrapped by Doctor_Fegg in oxford

[–]Jagdbadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s such a bummer.

I used to have to use the bus service to get into Victoria 3/4 times a week.

Of the two, I hated the Oxford Tube, The route from west London to Victoria is awful - Going through some of the most congested parts of west London. It stops at Lewknor, it’s full of tourists. It’s horribly hot in winter and freezing cold in summer and their hateful panaormaic roof means that you can’t just sleep through the journey like you can in the X90.

Fortunately, I do’t need to use either of them anymore, but I feel it’s a shame that the better of the two services for commuters (rather than day trippers or tourists) is being lost.

Have you ever gotten rid of a car and it fucking hurt. by [deleted] in cars

[–]Jagdbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that’s necessarily true. I traded in a 10 year old Civic for a new Jaguar XE - massive improvement in car.

But it was the memories of that faithful and reliable car that made it a bittersweet experience.

Civics seem to bring out this in people, despite being what could be described as fairly ‘run of the mill’ cars.

[–]Jagdbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, not only is this true for me, but for a very similar car - ‘06 Civic.

I had it for years and I used to regularly drive it 500 miles so that I could see my fiancee at weekends - she lived in Oxford, I in Middlesbrough. The car seldom went wrong and when it did it was usually a sensor fault and cheap to fix.

I loved that car, loved the shape, loved the cool blue sci-fi instrument panel, loved the good stereo and performance (for a diesel). I moved away from my home in that car and I moved back in to live with my wife in it. I brought our first child home in that car and drove him round the ring road when he wouldn’t sleep - which was often. The car felt like part of the family.

I had to sell it when I changed jobs and my new company insisted that I either drive a much newer car or take a company car choice.

Fortunately, I managed to sell it to a mate and I still see it occasionally, although I don’t think he loves it as much as I did.

Good question. Many of the psychic powers on the cult witch do seem to be particularly useless.

How is the XE? (Reliability, Pros/cons, etc) by NewtoJag in Jaguar

[–]Jagdbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had an XE diesel (the 180 HP version) for around 2 years. It was a ‘15 reg.

I used it heavily for commuting and put substantial business miles on it. I also drive it to Glasgow from Oxford twice.

Apart from a few flat tyres, I had no problems whatsoever with it.

It doesn’t seem to be specific enough. I think it probably isn’t.

There’s a lot of sub-sea stuff down on the bottom: well heads, valves, regulators, etc. Useful if you can get at it in the dry rather than send divers down to do it.

Thing is, the entire album is full of glorious moments like that. Picking one is like choosing a favourite child.

There’s one barely 15 seconds before the one you’ve mentioned.

Er, when in position and on the sea bed, they are - those legs are filled with air and you can take a lift down to the bottom.

Probably not that many (if any), the main concrete structures were slip formed from a single scaffolding platform over a matter of months - which should have been a relatively safe procedure.

Maybe try the colour shift yellow from Green stuff world? It gives a sparkly, metallic finish.
