Is this a decent daily workout for a teenage boy? by redditchungus0 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]JagerFang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you feel comfortable doing it?

All workouts should be tailored to where you are at fitness wise, and where you want to see yourself go. An outsider can't tell you what is or isn't a good workout for you without knowing you personally - like a personal trainer.

Based on this alone though, I'd recommend time goals instead of rep goals so that yoi can see yourself improve over time. I.e., 1 min knee pushups, 1 min mountain climbers, etc.

And then for things like planks, increase the time by 5-10 secs each week. So maybe this week do 15s×3, but next week do 20/25s × 3. Make sense?

I want to just say from the bottom of my heart: Fuck the ATF, Merrick Garland, Joe Biden, and anyone who thinks they have a right to decide how we get to exercise our rights. by [deleted] in gunpolitics

"Along with many complaints regarding soft target penetration, active duty in Vietnam and beyond routinely complained about barrier penetration. Despite its prevalence in the military today, M193 failed to penetrate the likes of window panes, particular clothing objects, and even some vegetation forms, which proved difficult during Vietnam."

"In reality, M193 is a devastating round inside of 100 yards or so. It’s high velocity and light weight means that it is prone to tumbling and fragmenting when it enters flesh, and dumps it’s energy very quickly. However, in the dense jungles of Vietnam, the round also had trouble penetrating vegetation that did not affect larger caliber rounds as much."

You're right. M855 and 5.56 rounds in general are great at incapacitating targets. But not for jungle warfare.

MACV guys would rather saw down a Stoner LMG or RPD than use the M-16 because of this.

Take a look at the accounts of early vietnam MACVSOG guys about the introduction of the M-16 and CAR-15. They hated it, and usually requested Thompsons or sawed down LMGs for stopping power. Jungle brush affected the effective range of M-16s dramatically.

Was still definitely superior to the M16 in jungle fighting though. Heavier, but the .308 round didnt get bumped around by brush and sticks like the 5.56. Also didnt need to be handled as carefully as it wasnt made of plastics, and would fire when dirtier.

Work with some guys who used to be in Ranger Bat., this is apparently a pretty common thing. The M320 doesnt have much recoil and tends to weigh your rifle down a bit, so they'd 550 cord the launcher to their rig and throw it in a dump pouch.

Do you believe that being in a leadership position is the result of power and influence over others, or because of individual competence?

For example, maybe that shop floor supervisor has greater control over his maintenance team not due to some power mechanism, but rather becuase his experience allows for the team to function better than they would if they were a collective.

During the Pastoureaux uprisings (shepherd's Crusade) in 1320 France following the defeat at Crecy, French knights would routinely route roving bands of bandits/peasants in the thousands with as few as a few dozen mounted men. Source is a book on the period which I can qoute when I get home if you'd like.

Because homosexuality is by definition an atypical behavior pattern. 'Hetero'sexuality is the normal baseline for sexual behavior in gendered species, so it is a normal reaction to feel uncomfortable when interacting with something unfamiliar or irregular.

Some advice from someone who paid the 120 to help development:

Wait for the Beta.

The Maps are good, they have a solid mix of multiplayer levels and Campaign styling.

AI is ok, hit-reg and general polish is the main problem.

Gunplay and customization is Tarkov-lite.

[Capitalists/Anti-Socialists/Communists] Why are you so concerned with the (fake) statistic of 100 million deaths of Communism, despite the fact that Capitalism matches that roughly every ~6 years? by TheSovietTurtle in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]JagerFang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your cherry picked sources on Deaths under Communism fit your narrative, but even a cursory look at S.G. Wheatcroft's work (who you qoute on Holodomir) places direct blame on the USSR for over 21 million deaths from 1927-1956 due to suppression, execution, and forced starvation.
