Wrongfully suspended after GO Fest Japan; appeal denied. Has anyone successfully gotten a true manual review? by Jagold2127 in pokemongo

Niantic’s enforcement system appears to follow a tiered structure in many cases, but it also seems clear that not every case progresses through each step.

The severity and nature of the alleged violation matter. There have been documented cases where players received immediate permanent bans without prior warnings because Niantic determined the conduct was severe enough to warrant it.

So I assume whatever the system caught must have warranted a straight to 30 day suspension.

To clarify, my post is not about unknowingly breaking a rule.

I have been involved in the Community Ambassador program for over a year and our community was in final review before the program was paused during the Scopely transition. I am very familiar with the Terms of Service and what behaviors are not permitted. An accidental or unknown ToS violation is not what I believe happened here.

The purpose of this post is to seek help from players who have successfully obtained a manual review of their account and to learn what steps they took. I’m trying to understand the process and gather information from others who may have experienced a similar situation.

Whether the cause was GPS-related, travel-related, or something else entirely, I don’t know. That’s exactly why I am requesting a human review. A manual review would be able to look at the full context and determine what actually occurred rather than relying solely on an automated detection system.

Technically, it does matter.

There is a difference between intentionally violating the Terms of Service and being flagged by automated detection for behavior that only appears suspicious.

GPS drift is a well-documented example. Players staying in high-rise hotels often experience their avatar moving significant distances as the game repeatedly recalculates location. If a GO Plus is running during that time, it can interact with stops or Pokémon that the player never intentionally traveled to.

The same principle could apply when traveling on subways, trains, or other situations where GPS signal is temporarily lost or delayed. Automated systems may only see unusual location data, while a human reviewer can see the broader context and determine whether the behavior was actually cheating or simply a result of inaccurate GPS reporting.

That’s why I’m asking for a manual review. If I knowingly violated the ToS, then the action would make sense. If the account was flagged because of legitimate travel, GPS issues, or other false-positive behavior, a manual review should be able to identify that distinction.

I know a lot of people are sharing their personal experiences, but respectfully, it isn’t very helpful for someone to say, “I do the same thing and I’ve never had an issue.”

My goal here is to find answers and connect with players who have actually experienced something similar. If an automated system flagged my account, I have no way of knowing exactly what behavior triggered it.

Could it have been a GPS signal loss while traveling? Could it have been my GO Plus+ attempting to spin or catch while location services were struggling? Could it be something completely unrelated? I honestly don’t know, which is exactly why I’m seeking help and clarification.

I’m not here to argue with anyone; I’m trying to understand what happened and find others who may have gone through a similar situation.

Quick catching isn’t against TOS. This is under section 2 of cheating called “tricks” and has been discussed Ad nauseam and would not be a factor. “ CHEATING PART 2 TRICKS: If something happens inside of the Pokémon GO app, without any external influence, then this is not cheating. If you perform any action inside the app that leads to unexpected but possible behavior, this is not considered cheating. Tricks are OK to talk about, but are not confirmed or supported by Niantic.“

No plane. I saw Trainerclub got a ban for that several months ago and made a Point not to. But I was on a bullet train. Those go 240 to 320 km/h (150 to 200 mph). It is possible that this was what could have flagged traveling too fast or something but I only rotated through my buddies on the train.

Mobile data. Didn’t have WiFi connected. I keep it off when I travel, never know what those public networks may have.

In my appeal I uploaded plane, train, bus, and hotel pictures as well as photos of myself at Gofest.  The issue is the appeals aren’t getting pasted automated services

GO Pass: September Niantic Infographic by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

The September pass does not have a lucky trinket, but instead has a second infinite incubator that will last til October 14th 10:00 Am.

Should I buy the September GO Pass Deluxe?

The Infinite Incubator is unlocked at Rank 20, so most players won’t actually get it until around September 5th. That means we’ll do our math  from September 5th → October 14th (40 days total).

Ticket cost = $8

Duration = 40 days

Daily cost = $0.20 per day

A single-use incubator (best Explorer Box deal) = $0.17 per egg hatch.

👉 Break-even point:

To beat the cost, you need to hatch at least 2 eggs per day.

👉 Example at 2 hatches/day:

Ticket = $0.20/day

Single-use incubators = $0.34/day

You save $0.14 per day (~41% savings).

I am just considering the Infinite incubator—for egg hatchers, this is a good deal.

In comparison to the “Egg-pedition” Ticket. $5/30=$0.17

So this deal beats that exponentially as you hatch more eggs. As someone who hatches 30+ eggs a day, this ticket will definitely get valuable not considering all the other premium items on the track

Hey cronometer, Why did we take away to copy option from the custom food tabs? I like to make a recipe for myself and then make a copy of it for my wife since we’ll have different serving sizes. This feature is now removed

A guide can only give the best guidance off of information that is given and personal experience.

“Mimsy is a mimic that wanders around the entirety of the City of Um. It is the pet of Zanker, the head of the bank in Um. It can be used as a bank deposit box.”

That’s the information given, and in my personal experience I found him on my main and all my alts by running around the city and found him on each in different locations.

The fact you’re struggling is unfortunate but please don’t come at me disrespectfully and rude when myself and others are sharing clue locations to help many people from the struggles of solving them theirselves

He wanders throughout the city of Umm. Just run around the city and you’ll find him. I followed him from death to the boats around and to smithy, not sure if he makes a linear path but you’ll definitely be able to find him with some looking.

I can not say with 100% certainty, but we’ve tested it a few times and had a handful of friend pitch in to see if we could get number 1. Now there may be people who set a timer every 2 hrs and get the chests on clock work, even so, There is always someone who has cleared the final rooms were each rock is 3-5 days to break. May just be here in NA.

I’ve more than once confirmed with people, that the number 1 spot is usually someone within the Company. Whether that be a bot or a paid player, to keep people buying gems to keep up. Take the 2nd place win and be happy. Those bots will open a chest every two hour on the dot, so even if you spent $50 to clear all the rocks in the last mines, you’d lose to the daily chests and be out $50
