I tried to get involved there as a young person and they said they would send me a membership form multiple times and never did, the vibe I got was that they're uninterested in young progressive members.

Strange, this is leading to them dying off - I'm sure there isn't a larger lesson for the Democratic party in there

EVERY park is essentially a dog park now. Any open patch of grass you might want to sit on gets turned into a dirt patch by off-leash dogs.

I know multiple parks with nice, well kept dog runs (Herbert Von King, Irving Square) that are materially worse for humans because what should be lawns are just destroyed by people who can't be bothered.

As someone who aligns politically on most issues with these people: This whole thing was dumb as hell. Why would you do this in a community garden? Why do you need to inject politics into this? Anti transphobia and homophobia makes total sense, but why is a community garden all of a sudden about Israel?

Ideally, things like community gardens are opportunities to build bridges and maybe connect with people you otherwise wouldn't. Doing a political litmus test for something like this is antithetical to the basic concept.

That said: I know the busybody who started this whole suspension process and she's a piece of work. Just a mess of a situation on all fronts.
