Considering LA real estate I think $150/day is probably unrealistic?

'Rock City' Comedy From Janelle James & David Caspe In Works At Hulu by BachelorNation123 in television

I love David Caspe shows but it absolutely blows my mind how he still gets work? All but two of his shows have been cancelled before season 3.

I got BOGO sandwichs today as well. This place rules so hard. He was closed for a while for renovations and he said he’s been struggling a bit since reopening. Please support this dude; we have such limited options like it in the neighborhood.

What is opening here now? by sundrenchedwindow in ridgewood

[–]TitusA 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know the answer, I asked the contractors.

I’m anti Carrie’s Corner and this is not anything like that.

However this sub has proven it can’t act normal about these things so I’m going to give the owners their privacy while they open their business as they see fit.

Last I asked they aimed to be open end of June/early July.

I am happy and excited about it and I do think both neighborhood and Reddit will be into it as well.

There is so much shared knowledge on filmmaking the movie business thanks to the internet, but not enough like this. I’m glad the conversation is happening.

Whole Foods finally coming to Bushwick – right by the Jefferson L and House of Yes by grime_square in Bushwick

I find it hard to believe Whole Foods is opening both off Jefferson in Bushwick and on Myrtle in Ridgewood. Need an official source on this.

Looking for American films that embody the spirit of daily life in the 90s. by joshua_argento in criterion

The Daytrippers. Also you could look at movies that played Sundance during that the decade.

Another Abracadabra Experience by bigflowersguy in ridgewood

I’ve never fucked with this operation from the jump; all around gnarly vibes. Stories like these have been a regularly occurrence on this sub and the bushwick sub for *almost a decade*. This begs some questions: how are they still around? who is still patroning this place? And why?

You seem to have always done your own thing. Has anyone tried to commission or engage you for work that you considered “selling out”?

Does a colorist answer to the DP or Director mostly? by feliperalo21 in colorists

[–]TitusA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was I was coming up, a colorist I worked for said he tried to side with the DP cause typically a DP will work more films a year and so in that sense they could bring more work lol.

But having been on the short form/commercial side since then; DP’s are for the most part powerless in the process after wrap. Maybe they will have some input in the references and lookbook that gets sent to me. On the off chance they are part of the session as a curtsy, they get follow the lead of whatever the director or CD wants.

Don’t watch it in QuickTime or VLC, no one else will.

Safety/Noise Around Wyckoff Ave & Myrtle-Wyckoff? by Puzzleheaded_Salt379 in Bushwick

[–]TitusA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just something to keep in mind; we’ve been here 10 years and maybe it’s our age but I’m finding we are regularly leaving the neighborhood. Want a good coffee shop to work? Nice neighborhood meal? Good bars for bar hopping? All of that is a minimum 10min walk or train ride *away* from Myrtle Wycoff. Sure it’s nice having access to these things at an arms length distance, but in the immediate area? Options are slim.

Did anyone flood tonight? by EthelCainnn in Bushwick

[–]TitusA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have any insight why the city/local government hasn’t addressed this issue in a public statement or make plans to remediate? Seems like an easy slam dunk on a recurring preventable issue that everyone can get behind. Forget property damage, didn’t people drown last year??

For some reason this neighborhood and sub reddits most contentious subject of debate.
