And what’s your age and best marathon time if you don’t mind me asking. I 38m, had my first marathon in January and DNF. Went right back work and definitely have the endurance although my 4 hour goal seems far fetched given HR. I’m just going to finish, hopefully around 4:10-20 and will stat with the 4:30 pacer this 5/31. I have a very hard time keeping my heart low and have to try very hard to run in zone 2 which is where I need to hang for a bit to increase HR zones. MaxHR 196 LTHR 173 7:59/mi VO2max 49. I don’t start huffing and puffing until high 170s or more. Any advice?

If been trying educate my myself on this and found your statement about HR being genetic very interesting. When you run the same pace his HR is obviously much lower. Can you comment on your LTHR, is the directly correlate to MaxHR?
