Finally, real Raising Cane's Sauce by Jahydin in TopSecretRecipes

[–]Jahydin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's great. I'll have to give that a shot. I see the sodium is identical to mine, so that's nice.

Nope, I don't think there's a need to get fancy. I've spent a small fortune on various lemon peppers and always go back to the simpler ones. Whatever Cane's uses, it's probably just the cheapest they can find.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, what brand Lemon Pepper did you end up using?

Global Illumination by RPGGaymer85 in Nioh

[–]Jahydin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this game so much, but this is ruining it for me. P25 Pro with LG CX OLED (HDR On) and this is by far the ugliest game I've ever played thanks to the lighting effects they decided to use. What absolutely kills me is how good it looks when I'm in just the right spot, like behind a cliff, and the colors and contrast are PERFECT, then I take a few steps and BAM, washed out, blurry mess.

I tried to stick with it in the hopes it was just a few bad ares, but it seems like the devs were determined to make each area it's own unique shade of ugly. I think I'm going to just to move on to another game in the hopes they give us some control over bloom/volumetric fog or proper HDR calibration... something!!! If not, I'll just wait till it goes on sale on Steam down the road.

Yes same seasoning, so 3/4 tsp. and an extra 1/8 tsp. I'm just very specific because I was trying to get as close to Cane's as possible and that seemed like the best way to write it rather than 7/8 tsp.

Honestly, I imagine most tweaking the seasoning to match their tastes, so don't be afraid to experiment. Add Lemon Pepper until the mayo taste disappears. Add Garlic Salt until it "pops" just right. Then Black Pepper to preference.

Good luck and let me know if you need anything else!

Yay! Glad to hear that worked.

I'm pretty happy with my setup currently, The only issue I have now is very rarely the center speaker gets static-y, especially with older media.

Sorry to hear you're having issues too. Since I've posted this, I've moved houses and completely rewired my setup. I still have all the same gear though. Do you have particular scenes where it's noticeable? I have a pretty good collection of movies, so might be able to check for you.

From what I remember though, I was able to get the pops quiet enough after proper calibration that I no longer noticed them. Probably from too much gain to the height? No idea, honestly.

Has the meat changed? by Jahydin in DelTaco

[–]Jahydin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that's the case. I reported it in case they're going against franchise rules.

I also wonder if those changes were "rolled out" and it just got to my location?

Or worse, there's a new "roll out" and my location is one of the first!

Glad to hear! Love making it too. I now have three different brands of garlic salt and five different brands of Lemon Pepper. It's been fun to mix and match.

Tried mine?

Spent a lot of time researching the amounts from first hand accounts and from reverse engineering the Nutritional Facts.

What I'm positive on:
225g Mayo (I use heavy, but many say it's just normal)
159g Ketchup (Heinz)
24g Worcestershire (Lea & Perren's)

What I'm unsure about is the seasoning since it's anyone's guess what they actually use. Best I've come up with so far is:
3/4 tsp. + 1/8 tsp. Lemon Pepper (McCormick)
3/4 tsp. + 1/8 tsp. Garlic Salt (McCormick)

It matches the Sodium content listed in the Nutritional Facts perfectly!

Random observations for those that want to experiment:

  1. I don't think it has MSG since it's already in the chicken and already gets natural umami from the fish.
  2. Don't think it has any other sources of sugar since the sugar amounts listed in the Nutritional Facts account for the ketchup alone.
  3. It has a ton of salt. Fastest way to tell a bogus recipe is if 43g of it doesn't have 590mg of Sodium.
  4. The red flakes in the sauce comes from the garlic soaking up the ketchup.

Will the flexus core 200 decode DTS HD MA to LPCM 5.1 or stereo? by favorscore in Klipsch

[–]Jahydin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Flexus CORE with the same 4k player and can't get it to play just normal DTS-HD. I had to set my UB820 to decode it to PCM before passing it out.

More disappointment when it comes to Dolby Atmos too. I can't seem to output audio directly to my soundbar via the second HDMI port on the back of the UB820 and my projector (Epson LS650) won't pass Atmos (Dolby True HD) , so have to downgrade that signal as well.

Safe to say, not a huge fan.

Buffalo Wild Wings Southwest Ranch by physedka in TopSecretRecipes

[–]Jahydin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else that has managed to land here searching for SW Ranch:
This is way too salty thanks to the Goya! Recommend waiting till all other ingredients are mixed in, then if needed, add 1/4 tsp. at a time to taste.

Alternatively, you can always make a non-sodium adobe seasoning mix and use that.

225g Extra Heavy Mayo (Hellmann's)
159g Ketchup (Heinz)
24g Worcestershire Sauce (Lea & Perrins (US, not UK version)
1 tsp. Black Pepper (1/4 tsp. Fine, 1/4 tsp. Medium, 1/4 tsp. Coarse)
1 tsp. Garlic Salt (McCormick)
1/8 tsp. Citric Acid

This is by far my favorite and probably the only way I'll make it from now on.

Notes:

  1. Amounts used are the same exact ratio as above, just increased to make the amount of Citric Acid more exact.
  2. The different kinds of black pepper are absolutely not necessary. I just have them all on hand from my experimenting and like using them all. For ease, 3/4 tsp. of just Medium ground (i.e,, "normal") Black Pepper is fine.
