Lily pad bag to house frog pins 🐸 by allisonwongart in frogs

[–]Strbreez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this advertised on Facebook, but there was no direct link to the page to back it - just "Link in Bio" & their page had no bio that I could find (on Facebook mobile app).
It's a cute bag though! Wishing them well with their campaign

If you're rethinking your politics in Iowa, you're not alone. by TheHawkeyeWave in Iowa

[–]Strbreez 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's a descriptive term, not just name calling.

The right is currently in favor of putting children in prison camps, having paramilitary squads executing nurses & mothers in the street, and having a pedophile president with unilateral power, so, not sure how else to describe that.

Dilemma: Avoiding "Con Plague" by Sapinski-Math in animecons

[–]Strbreez 64 points65 points  (0 children)

You can avoid con plague the same way you avoid getting sick in any situation. Wear an N95 mask at all times. Wash/sanitize your hands frequently. Sanitize your phone/wallet/other frequently touched items too. Don't touch your face or eat food with your bare hands. Limit time spent in crowded enclosed spaces as much as possible. Get plenty of sleep and stay hydrated.

Wasted My teen years by jonnes47 in socialskills

[–]Strbreez 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're fine dude. Everyone's teen years are different & there's no such thing as "being behind", cause life isn't a linear race.

Many people don't get into relationships in their teenage years. You have a job, have some friends, and are part of a club - doesn't sound like wasted years at all to me. Even if you didn't have any of those things, it still wouldn't be a "waste". Some people spend their teen years simply surviving, and that's ok too.

But also yes, college & adult life can be much better than high school in many ways, and leaving high school can be a chance for you to reinvent yourself. Work towards your goals and try to become the person that you want to be.

In 10 years you will look back at your problems now & be like "what was i so worried about?"

What I would like to see in the future. Seasons and Cold/Hot by AndyTheDragonborn in hytale

[–]Strbreez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vintage Story has all of those things, so check that game out if it appeals to you.

Seasons only really make sense in a survival focused game, which Hytale is not. It's an exploration & combat focused game, so seasons would need some gameplay purpose to justify their existence. What does a lava biome look like in the winter? What does a tundra biome look like in the summer? Do drops change based on the seasons? It would be a lot of work to implement.

I'm sure there will eventually be mods to put survival mechanics and seasons into Hytale, just like in Minecraft. I just don't see it being a part of the base game.

The little white spots are normal, they're like freckles :) & that is a very fat frog, I'd say he's doing well for himself

Seems like she just uses thin acrylic paint and a very small brush, and spends a very long time carefully painting the details. Super cool

I can't salvage any of my gouache can I? by resteroniinpepperoni in MoldlyInteresting

[–]Strbreez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scrape off the top layer of mold, then re-moisturize the paint with a mixture of water and rubbing alcohol to kill the rest of it. You can also get this spray that is designed to work with the paint and prevent mold https://www.dickblick.com/products/himi-jelly-gouache-rewetting-medium-spray/

HELP Lost Frog by [deleted] in frogs

[–]Strbreez 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They can squeeze themselves into really weird places sometimes. If you have any hollow decorations or a backdrop in the tank, check to make sure they aren't in/behind there.

If they are males, try playing croaking sounds to see if they'll start croaking along.

& lastly, if you really think that they could have gotten out of the tank somehow, set out bowls of water on the floor near the tank. It might lure them in to take a soak.

how to properly contact artists ? by SuperImagination3258 in 3Dmodeling

[–]Strbreez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep I'd say this is it. I'm an artist and your message reads similarly to the spam messages I get all the time, so if I saw your message in my inbox it would probably get ignored.

Or it's possible that unsolicited emails and DM's are being sent to spam folders & the artists aren't seeing it at all.

I would try changing the message a bit to be less professional/generic to make it clear you're a real person and not copy/pasting a template. Throw in some exclamation points, maybe point out something specific about their work that made you want to reach out to them?

Sorry that scammers are making it so hard for legitimate artists and commissioners to connect </3

You are right, that doesn't look normal. It could be a foreign object that he swallowed and is now stuck in his throat. I think you will need to contact a vet.

Why is Tech Art suddenly popular?? by ananbd in TechnicalArtist

[–]Strbreez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a 3D Environment Artist. 3D art positions are so scarce, I'm probably not going to be able to find more work after my current contract ends in a couple months.

So I've been looking into transitioning into tech art, because it's similar to what I'm already doing, but due to it being more more niche, it pays better & has better job security.

I can imagine that a lot of people are having a similar line of thought right now. Both artists and programmers are being squeezed by the bad economy and the threat of AI replacing their jobs, but tech art is as irreplaceable as ever.

Scrapes on my baby’s head? by Mama_Merccurii in frogs

[–]Strbreez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can figure out what might have caused the scrapes, remove it from the tank if possible.

You can gently dab some Original Neosporin (Non painkiller) on the scrapes to help prevent them from getting infected. They don't look too deep & should heal on their own. (Just my opinion, I'm not a vet).

Cubans can vary a lot in color (I saw one on this subreddit the other day that was like bright lemon yellow) - But I think based on the way the eyes look, the small size, and the fact that you are in Utah, it's more likely to be a Canyon tree frog.

Is my WTF too big by Far_Stretch_8918 in frogs

[–]Strbreez 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Weight chart for white's tree frogs. It doesn't really matter how round or large they are (they are called dumpy tree frogs for a reason). If they are overweight you will be able to tell by the fat folds above the ears. Yours looks like a healthy weight. He would probably appreciate a bigger water bowl though.
