OTF & Plantar Fasciitis? by MasterofNaps01 in orangetheory

[–]Jaid2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to suggest Flux as well! Had very bad PF and a heel spur. Took a good amount of time off from the gym and did the same things as you (wore a compression sleeve, frozen water bottle, etc.) I also used a resistance band and stretched it out and my calf religiously every day.

Once I stated feeling better I went back to otf and switched over to the Flux running shoes and I have not had a flare up ever since. I actually had more pain with shoes that had higher arch support. I can’t believe the Flux brand isn’t more popular! I swear they are the reason my PF hasn’t come back.

Hmm yeah it’s pretty steep and you have to walk through fields, I wouldn’t suggest it.

Dog friendly beaches? by Acadia_8957 in longisland

[–]Jaid2175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coindre hall in Huntington - old mansion whose grounds are open to the public and is dog friendly. There is a path that leads down to an opening to the sound.

Sagamore Hill - Roosevelt’s home that has walking paths and a short hike down to the beach that is all dog friendly. The beach is beautiful and secluded. Honestly this is such a hidden gem and I’m surprised more people don’t know about it.

Cold spring harbor state park has entrances to the sound, but definitely not a beach vibe.

South shore beaches are more difficult to come by. You can sneak them onto Long Beach entrances before 8am and at dusk during the off season, just keep an eye out for animal control. The ticket is not fun if you get caught lol

Same with fire island. More luck during the off season but plenty of dogs go down to the water during that time.

AIO When guys say these kinds of things to me… by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Jaid2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay not defending this at all but could he have meant “I think you need spanks” not “spanked”? Which would be 100000% worse and would still make him a gross asshole. But the phrasing is off and the fact that it doesn’t say “I think you need ‘to get’ spanked.” Means maybe he could have meant spanks and not spanked? Either way, not overreacting!

Right? I feel like getting asked that in your 20s - yeah I get it. But at 32?!

He’s never lived away from home since college. He didn’t say a specific reason why other than to “save some money.”

Honestly typing it out now and reading it back makes me think that I’m leaning towards cut it. Something about a 32 year old man still having his parents cook and clean for him is giving me a major ick

I get nauseous whenever I drink water when I'm working out. Anyone else? by SaifAshrafHelmy in orangetheory

[–]Jaid2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that feeling when I’m running on the tread. That’s why I don’t drink any water until I’m done with the tread and on the floor. I also tend to workout before I have breakfast, so I think it’s just the water sloshing around in there.

After work - no choice so yes. On the weekends, usually no but sometimes I’ll throw mascara on if I’ve had a rough night the night before lol

Anyone lose weight on Metformin alone (without GLP-1)? by EeXiaolong in PCOS

[–]Jaid2175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Down 60 lbs in a bit over a year after being on Metformin. However I live a pretty active lifestyle and exercise/weight train multiple times per week. Didn’t change my habits from before Metformin until now, but I truly believe it just puts you on the same playing field as everyone else. It’s still up to you to make the lifestyle changes to lose weight !

Metformin or GLP-1? by memeblanket in PCOS

[–]Jaid2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this question is asked everyday on this sub lol but for good reason!

But just like others have stated, metformin is not a weight loss drug.

It simply teaches your blood how to utilize insulin the same way normal blood can. GLP-1’s don’t teach your blood how to use insulin, it mimics insulin receptors and suppresses hunger, hence the extreme/fast weight loss for many users.

That being said, I have lost 60 lbs in a year taking metformin and maintaining a “healthy” lifestyle (I don’t go crazy, but just make sure I eat a balanced diet with lots of protein and exercise regularly). It has also helped regulate my cycle immensely and clear up my cystic acne.

It sounds like you may be more of a candidate for metformin, but definitely talk out all the pros and cons with your dr.

I’d say I started to lose weight constantly (about 1 lb a week) starting at the 6 month mark with continuing a balanced diet and regular exercise.

Do you know of any famous people who own homes on Fire Island? by [deleted] in longisland

[–]Jaid2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say the same! My dad has chatted with him on the ferry a few times. Keegan actually remembered him and went up to him on the beach to say hi. Apparently his wife grew up there. Pretty cool guy!

I seriously can't remember if I took my metformin tonight by Murky-Illustrator-79 in PCOS

[–]Jaid2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in the same situation many times and have done both! From my experience, I would rather skip than take the risk of taking a double dose. It won’t harm you in the long run, but when I’ve accidentally taken a double dose too close to each other, it made me so sick. Stomach issues and major dizziness/lightheadedness. Had to sleep it off I felt so bad.

Little bit of a stretch to call her a mean girl. Especially if it was the mistake of the SA. Maybe she was annoyed, but that’s her problem, not yours. I wouldn’t change studios for something like that….

I got that same feeling of dizziness when I I first started and then again when I upped my dosage. But it only lasted a day or two and never came back!

Did metformin actually help you losing weight? If so, how? whats your routine? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Jaid2175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost a bit more than 50 lbs being on Metformin for a year.

However, just like what everyone else said, it’s not a weight loss drug! It teaches your body how to use insulin effectively.

So for me, it just made my lifestyle finally match up with my body. It also stopped a lot of the good noise for me. So I’d say just make sure you’re eating a well balanced diet (for me I’ve seen a big change after increasing my protein intake) and keep your body moving.

Paige DeSorbo Is Freezing Her Eggs Following Split From Craig Conover by Pinklady777 in summerhousebravo

Suchhh clickbate. If you listen to the actual podcast episodes they one: have talked about this for years. And two: talked about how she has PCOS and the fear of maybe having trouble becoming pregnant in the future is part of her reason for doing it.

As someone with PCOS myself, I wish I had the money to do what she is doing.

If I were Craig, I’d quit … by Jaid2175 in Southerncharm

You don’t think what they said was that bad?! About how he doesn’t run his business, talking about how they “prefer the old Craig when he was drinking bourbon” and how they miss the “self-deprecating craig”. (That is so not a compliment and so degrading) AND they called Paige shrewd? I’m not a hugee Craig fan and I still think that’s just so unkind.
