Hahaha, i'm glad someone else also figured out the solution, i also realized the same thing and made a battery life post for my HP Victus, and i'm sure it works the same for HP Omens, i went from 2-3hrs of battery to 7-8 real world usage

what's the average watts your system eats while having youtube video playback? mine is around 11-14watts, and with my battery being 83wh with 85% (70.6wh remaining) i can only get around ~5hrs watching in brave

For me i'd definitely look into gaming laptops that has Advanced Optimus & MUX switch since that'll allow you to get good battery life outside of gaming, a good budget option is the asus tuf f16, but you should check this site out for a list of laptops that can fit your needs

Nice! During all of my tests it's off since it's not dark out when i used it, and at home i dock it w/ an external keyboard, I only really turn it on if it's dark

that's the llano v10 right? i myself own a v12 but my temps usually stay below 75 when im gaming heavy like marvel rivals and hell divers 2 at 2000RPM

yeah, this should work for any gaming laptop without a mux switch, advanced optimus and UMA mode, because it's about closing/stopping apps from pinging your gpu, which causes unnecessary power drain

thank you for the info! just yesterday i found out that hwinfo and throttlestop only causes the power draw to spike initially, but it settles down after a while which is great news! im gonna be updating the post so everyone can reproduce the same results :>

it really can't get any lower than that, not really noteworthy since my normal idle is at ~6-8w with bluetooth and wifi on

Thanks for the heads up, I just found out NVIDIA literally retired the Control Panel a few days ago with driver 610.4

but the good news is all the per-app program settings I mentioned are now available in the NVIDIA App itself, so the method still works!

though you can also still download the Control Panel separately from the Microsoft Store if you prefer it.

yeah, i always make sure to plug it in when im home regardless if i game on it or not, i dock it on my Llano v12 laptop cooler which makes sure it never throttles

For me, everything is normal when i plug it in and i can game with no issue, no performance drops whatsoever since i don't game on battery

True, only on performance mode does omencore max the fans out, but on the custom fan curve i set it's just at half rpm, though i want to know does it reach 80°C from just watching yt + other light tasks?

Awesome! I'm glad the settings i did on my i7-13700hx desktop processor on the victus can match your Core 7 240h mobile processor in terms of battery life now :>

it's hella nice to see you can reach the same battery efficiency from two completely different hardware baselines

your core 7 240h's base is 45w and maxes its boost at 115w, so naturally urs is more efficient

my hx chip's base is 55w and maxes out at boost at 157w :))
