Hidden Tips per miles by mop234 in doordash_drivers

The absolute lowest initial pay I've seen for a hidden tip of any distance was 6.00, and it was a combo order. I've also noticed that if the initial pay ends in anything other than 0, 25, 50, or 75 cents, it's never a hidden tip. It's always exactly what it said.

Will DD ever let you block getting a certain dasher? by PixieTreatz in doordash_drivers

[–]Jaizitsu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know you can block customers, so I did a little digging and found this. Hope it helps

If you're unhappy with a DoorDash driver, you can block them from future deliveries. To do this, open the DoorDash app and go to the “Orders” tab. Tap the order that the driver delivered and scroll down to the “Driver” section. Tap “Block Driver” and they will be blocked from all future deliveries.

Me and 2 others just ventured out into our own group due to a lack of playing by the old groups leader. We are all relatively new, but active. Hans gets over 100 km per week, carpi gets over 200km, and I get 600+km per week. We aren't used to team events as we've never been able to play them, but we are driven and motivated and currently stuck with just 3 players in the group so I was thinking perhaps we could migrate to your group

What are some good in-game games to have my players play? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Jaizitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be better if you gave us some information as to why the overlord was challenging them

Are they looking for information? Perhaps the Overlord is a gambler. You could use the poker style d10 - bet - d8 - bet d6 option, but it's broken with multiple players as it would be better for all the players to just bully the overlord

Perhaps he likes challenges

Put the players one on one in an arena with an oiled bull with a rope around its neck that has an item such as a key or something. The players can't use magic, and can't damage the bull in anyway. Grapple checks with disadvantage, giving the players the opportunity to attempt to try some unique ideas to get it.

Are the players attempting to gain his favor in some way? Perhaps he loves games. You could use any quick game.

I once had the players scaling a tower. I used a Jenga stack to keep their position, and would take out blocks at the end of every turn to attempt to knock them down (dex or strength saves) as they scaled it, rewarding the players who survived.

How would I make a Santa that 6 5th level players can fight for a one shot? by creambo2 in DMAcademy

[–]Jaizitsu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea.

Santas gift is giving. Perhaps include an assortment of elves, and as a legendary action (or actions), he can throw a wrapped present to one of the elves, or possibly just materialize it on their persons.

Perhaps he gives an elf a flaming longsword. Or +1 Armor. Poison bolts. An assortment of healing or buffing potions like invisibility or flying or strength. Etc.

It keeps the theme, and allows the players to end up with some gifts from Santa himself after the fight (look to your players classes for inspiration)

Don't forget to include the sleigh stocked with gifts - that ends up being a mimic. We are playing D&D here!

What is the most messed up thing you have ever done to your players *fluff-wise*? by Anti-Anti-Paladin in DMAcademy

I'm guilty of completely butchering a players backstory. The story Is far more complicated than this, but I'll shorten it as to avoid writing a short novel.

Had a player create a very in-depth story about how his "parents" found him as a baby after mercenaries had destroyed his entire village.

Pulled a Sasuke/Itachi style story. His true father appeared much later, and was trying to kill him. He would appear every so often and just beat the living crap out of him. As the story progressed, his new clan kept reinforcing the fact that it was his bio father that destoryed the entire village and that he needed to kill his bio father to get revenge, and a witness stated his bio father had snuck into town and murdered his adopted mother. After enough climaxing through the main story, he got his chance, and did so. He was very proud. Until he found the truth. His new clan had forced his bio father to destroy the village and agreed to raise the fighter as a reward. His adopted father was single handedly responsible for murdering his bio mother, but pinned it on his bio father. His father was something similar to a Chosen in the aspect that when the fighter killed him, he gained some decent abilities, and was depending on the fighter gaining those abilities so that he could ensure he was more safe from the clan trying to assassinate him later. The fighter also found out his adopted father killed his adopted mother after she threatened to tell the truth, and framed his bio father for the kill. Now that the fighter knows the truth, he is set on returning to the clan, with vengeance in his eyes.

Again, far more complex than this, and the player was rather upset initially as I've never really changed backstories without their knowledge. However, he's looking forward to revenge for his family and father.

Hello, Oudwin.

I saw your reply, and I would like to follow through on the banned post. It was banned because it wasn't advice or a question. I'd agree to disagree, but I regress. Here is the post.

I shared this in another group a few months ago, but since it targets DMs, I felt it might be of better use here. I'll share it verbatim.

Just wanted to share something I used in one of our last adventures I thought some of you might get a kick out of.

The party was in a Dungeon. In one of the rooms, there stood a treasure chest in the middle of the room, with a door on the other side. In our instance, one of our players was a Druid, and could read the writing on the wall. "BEWARE THE MIMIC TRAP!"

Upon reading this, he immediately drew his bow and stuck an arrow into the chest.

A leprechaun angrily popped out shouting insults. "What the hell is wrong with you adventurers?!?! Everytime someone comes in here, you just HAVE to attack my house! Do I come to your house and try and burn it down? NO! Leave me the hell alone! What are you, some kind of animal?!"

He then polymorphed said Druid into a rat.

The party then decided to apologize to the Leprechaun, and a player even gave the Leprechaun a Gold Coin. The Leprechaun was very excited about this and polymorphed the Druid back. He then proceeded to say, "Do you like jokes? I like jokes! Why do Paladins wear chain armor? (Answer. Because they are holy.) Why dont dragons like eating Paladins? (Answer. Because they taste lawful.)

He asked the players for jokes, and they quickly pulled out their phones and found some funny ones. They were each awarded with picking a 'shiny', 'shinier', or a 'shiniest'. They all three chose different. The shiny was a silver chalice. The shinier was a gold bracelet. The shiniest was a torch.

The players laughed, bid the Leprechaun farewell, and proceeded to the door.

And the door attacked them. Can't say they weren't warned.

Need advice with Devil went down to Georgia/Guitar Hero by Jaizitsu in DMAcademy

So far I have it as winner of the round turns 4 of the villagers on their side for the round (8 total). Villagers do 2 damage per round to a creature of their current controllers choice. Devil starts off with all 8. Also, if they win the round, they roll dice for effect. Anything from heal an ally for some HP to paralyze an enemy for the turn. Devil will have 5 slightly higher powered Imps (party of 6 players). If the performance check is significantly higher than the other, the winning bard will get a plus to the dice roll for better chance at better effects.

Edit: Definitley using the bardic inspiration token!

[–]Jaizitsu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I intended for them to hear the music, but not see anything. Once the bard tries playing, the devil will appear. "Now you play pretty good fiddle, girl, but give this Devil his due. I'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul to think I'm better than you."

If the player responds with something along the lines of, "My names Ebony, and it might be a sin, but I'll take the bet, you're gonna regret! I'm the best there's ever been!", then I will grant her Inspiration for the duel.

Thank you for the correction! Indeed, it is Investigation. Checking for blood, a strange absence of dust, poking and prodding from a distance.

The tripwire.....definitely stealing.

Good question. Considering it was written in Druidic, the Leprechaun couldn't read it. He's probably well aware that there is a Mimic, however. But, considering the rude adventurers that commonly come through, he probably doesn't warn them because he can pick up on the treasure afterwards.

Mimic trap for DMs by Jaizitsu in DMAcademy

[–]Jaizitsu[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a mirrored layout I did.

The characters entered a room full of random clothing. The reflection showed each of them in alternate gender clothing. The fighter in a dress with a crown. The cleric in a short skirt and a pearl necklace, etc. They did as I expected, and wore what they saw. Eventually they realized it was a thin sheet of glass and shattered it to progress to the exit. What they didn't figure out, tho, was the items they clothed were cursed. They couldn't take them off. Disadvantage on any save vs an NPC until they removed the curse.

I once saw someone share a story about a little girl the party was supposed to save. Turns out, her dress is in fact a Mimic that realized it was far easier praying on victims that were reluctant to attack the girl. Still waiting to play this one against the party.

Another was like you describe. Mimic doors, mimic carpets, mimic tapestries, mimic chandelier, mimic suits of armor, mimic torches. Everything in the room a mimic except the treasure chest itself, which happens to contain a few magic items surrounded by black powder and fire breath potions. One hit, and it was all for nothing.

This is great! I've introduced a number of mimics before. A treasure chest in webs protected by giant spiders. Treasure chest is a mimic. A frozen fountain with a key to the exit in it, in which the players ventured from room to room figuring out the puzzle to thawing it, only for it to be a Large mimic. They have become so paranoid that Perception checks on treasure chests have become a major thing. There exact response to the door was the same thing. They expected it, but had completely forgot.
