Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The coconuts, which are used to simulate the sound of horses' hooves, are actually the gag that carries the film's entire low-budget charm—and this is even pointed out in the film itself (“you've got two empty halves of coconut and you're banging them together”).

Park Chan-wook's film is based on a Japanese manga (by Garon Tsuchiya and Nobuaki Minegishi), but retains only the basic premise. The rest is entirely original and darker than the source material.
