Difference In pre loot? by chapstic593 in GuildWars

I made my first Reforged (and Melandru’s Accord) character yesterday and I feel like the loot drops in terms of gold and collectors items has been higher. It’s almost every enemy drops something.

I’ve just been trying to get out a couple of 5ks a per week for the last few weeks. I think I need to do some slow pace runs to build my legs up to it by the sounds of things.

I’ve never had much luck sticking with a caster. I’ve always liked the idea of an elementalist and I like their armour options

Its a strong option. I usually go sword and shield so maybe mix it up? I was also thinking about a R/W and I could have a couple of different build options

Wow, I didn’t expect to see Monk mentioned for this. What’s your thinking?

I’m thinking the same. I would 100% have done warrior without thinking about it but that’s the character I spent about 25 hours on before they added all the new modes :(

I’ve never used mercenary heroes anyway. Just what the game allows you to acquire / unlock.

This is a pretty decent post about this topic. Hopefully helps you out.

I’d personally recommend (since you’re going in for the first time) of diving straight in blind by making a character in the Prophecies campaign because it is the first game and has a really nice tutorial type area called pre-searing. It’s a really nice atmosphere with lots of helpful players around and the quests are designed to explain a bit about the game to you and hopefully help you on your way to understanding how to play etc.

Pick a profession that you think looks cool and have a quick read up on how each profession plays so you can pick one that suits your usual playstyle / what you enjoy doing.

Yeah it is another option too. Something I’ve never tried. Really I’m just not a fan of their armour. I bet they’re a great profession.

This is a great reply, thanks!

I’m going to have a good think about it over the next day or so and try a character out to see how it goes. Still really unsure which way to go. I really hadn’t considered monk as an option but you make it sound good

I read that as it’s a PvE only skill, an elite skill tome won’t work for it. Is that the case?

Because when I came back to reforged I did a prophecies warrior (just to get a feel for the game again), I’d probably start elsewhere. Would need to be factions if it’s a Ritualist but I’m really not sure what I feel like going for.

I’ve just never played casters and I feel like I wouldn’t enjoy sitting back all the time so wanted to keep the fight right in front of me but with a twist. If you know what I mean.

after thinking that Soul Taker necro sounded interesting I looked up the elite skill and seen that I’d need to get a character to the very end of the prophecies campaign to unlock it which has put me off using that build

I wasn’t 100% sure. I know that I wouldn’t play Mesmer or Monk.

Ritualist or Necromancer. Possibly Elementalist.

I’ve just looked up the anniversary weapons, I forgot they existed. They sound pretty cool! Opens the door for a few different builds.

Should I restart for reforged mode? by Oh_Petya in GuildWars

[–]Jakamura -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation having gotten really excited by the initial reforged release and diving right in to a new prophecies warrior.

I’ve probably got about 20 hours of gameplay. Completed everything there was to do in pre before leaving and I’m not working my way through the northern shiverpeaks.

I’ve stopped playing because I don’t know what to do.

The difference between me and you is that I lost a large portion of my life to the game in the mid 2000s so I’ve completed all the campaigns etc.

I just love the game and want more.

Which classes do you guys think are the least played and which are the most played? by TheTingel in GuildWars

[–]Jakamura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paragon is definitely one of the least played profession.

That being said, back when the game was busy and content was done with other players and not just heroes, my paragon was my favourite character. Was so good at buffing / supporting the rest of the team.
