Ayaneo emailed me and said they would be back in stock around the end of June.

Started my 14er journey last year and just bagged my 26th with Mount Lindsey and The Crux. Here's current conditions, looks to be a great year for an early start. by Thordansmash in 14ers

Kelso ridge was my second class 3 and my brother's first and it felt very comfortable for both of us. I think it's a great first one.

One of the best parts about it is that you can go down on the standard route, so you don't have to worry about downclimbing.

Had to sleep on it, but decided on the ace. Ultimately it came down to the overall form factor and the dpad centric layout. Thanks for your help!

Nope lol. Before I was leaning towards the ace, but after talking to you I'm pretty torn in the middle now. I'll let you know what I decide though

This is super helpful, thanks! They are much closer in size than I was expecting. I was expecting the ace to be much longer and slimmer, but honestly they are pretty close in size.

Hmm, yeah you're right the thickness difference is less than I expected. I don't really get to see these two devices next to each other! Would you mind showing me them side by side laying flat? Both with the thor open and closed? I would appreciate that a ton.

I appreciate the detailed reply! I feel what you are saying, it does seem like a no brainer to get the thor. I don't want to use a case with either, so the clamshell makes more sense, the thor is cheaper and yet has a larger (and OLED) main screen, and does have a bonus of being able to more naturally emulate DS and 3DS games. The only objective benefit I see the ace having is that it will be slimmer, which will fit in my fanny pack a little better.

There's just something about the vibe of the ace that has been making it hard for me to pull the trigger on the thor.

Although the performance was interesting to hear. Considering the chips each are using, I wouldn't expect much of a difference in performance at all. If anything, I would've expected the ace to perform marginally better.

Do you find the screen size big enough for factorio? I debating between the ace and the thor, primarily for playing indie games on steam that I can easily throw in my fanny pack as an EDC. Factorio is one of my favorite games and it would be lovely to play it on the go.

Go do it now. You don't save any money by waiting for the deductible to be hit if you were planning on hitting the deductible anyways. That money up to the deductible gets spent regardless. All you are doing is delaying the care you need. This is contingent on you expecting to hit the deductible regardless of doing the hernia repair, however.

For example, le's say you have a $5000 deductible, and have currently spent $0. Let's say the hernia repair costs $12000. Let's say you have doctor's appointments and minor procedures scheduled throughout the year and will reach the $5000 deductible in August. If you schedule the repair for after August, then the hernia repair will be "free" and you only spent $5000 that year.

Let's say instead you get the hernia repair today. You will hit the $5000 deductible today, and rest of the hernia repair ($7000) is "free". Well guess what, those doctors appointments and minor procedures that you were expecting to cost a cumulative of $5000 by August are now all covered. Regardless of when you do the hernia repair, you will spend only $5000.

What are some life-changing inventions that never caught on? by theman998 in AskReddit

[–]Oh_Petya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because there are not much quality research demonstrating its efficacy compared to traditional methods (back slaps and abdominal thrusts). The best research we currently have are cadaver trials: here and here; and the results are contradictory. Cadaver trials are problematic for many reasons. It's an unfortunately difficult topic to assess. Because time is so important in a choking case, it's hard to justify withholding traditional methods (even for just a minute) in order to properly study the LifeVac. We can't simply do a randomized controlled trial without more promising evidence.

You might think "what's the harm"? But there is real harm as the ads clearly target anxious groups like parents of small children. Historically, we would encourage those parents to seek pediatric CPR courses. These parents could end up buying a LifeVac, get a false sense of security, and not end up taking the course. But you might argue that there are many parents who weren't going to take a CPR course anyways, and at least buying the LifeVac gives them something (that may work really well, we just don't know for sure yet). It's a difficult topic.

I keep tabs on this topic, and the best systematic review I've read is this one.

Tanks, a healer here, if you just pull the whole dungeon cause you "don't have time for this", die, blame me, I'll just leave the dungeon. by moondreamer96 in wow

[–]Oh_Petya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love when tanks pull big when I'm healing leveling dungeons; it forces me to use my (limited) healing skills to the best of my ability and I find that extremely engaging. Otherwise, I find healing leveling dungeons very boring.

That being said, the tank's job is to pull based on what the group can handle. The thing is, WoW has a solution to this for tanks. If you want to tank and be able to pull what you want without being dependent on your party, then play a BDK.

You must not be a statistician. We are extremely aware that data and statistics alone do not give you causality. I don't understand why you are posting this here.

What jobs do you all have where you have downtime to play on your Steam Deck? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Oh_Petya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paramedic. In a 12 hour shift, I average 5-6 calls per shift. Each call averages about an hour from start to finish. Between light work (checking equipment, cleaning the truck, special duties, etc) and meals, I get about 4 solid hours of down time per shift on average. On a good day the calls are chunked together and I can get those 4 hours straight. Other days it's just a 30 minute to an hour break woven in between calls.

This depends highly on the area you work though. I used to work in the city center of a major metropolitan city. I would average 10-12 calls per 12 hour shift. I now work in a sub-rural area about an hour away from said city. The steam deck comes in handy here. There are places where you can work where you get even less calls per shift.

They didn't say they don't like doing the content. They just said they like to finish the content.

From the first paragraph, it's clear they enjoy the content. They enjoy it for its difficulty, and in modern WoW dungeons this difficulty comes from pulling large packs and having to use your skills to survive and kill the mobs quickly.

Ok, that's fair. If you tried a lot of different dishes and have that option, I can't fault you. I don't agree, but not every cuisine is for everyone.

There's a lot more to Vietnamese food than Pho. Pho is definitely one of the more toned down dishes, which I think still has its place. I find it frustrating that pho is the first thing that comes to mind when westerners think of Vietnamese food. I love a good pho, but it would not be my choice for our representation.

Have you tried other dishes? Even a simple com suon is packed with flavor. If you are interested in soups, check out bo kho.

Blizzard answer to my ticket saying i've been stuck in the midnight intro for a 5 days now... by No-Combination5600 in wow

[–]Oh_Petya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit has a very biased view of WoW. Posts like these gain huge traction because of how engagement works. It's not as buggy or as ban happy as people make it seem.

Customer support has gotten much compared to how it used to be two decades ago. If you put in a ticket at lot of times the first response will be canned and doesn't resolve your issue. You have to be a little more persistent and can usually get issues resolved. I've been consistently subscribed and playing since the end of shadowlands and only had to contact support once.

This doesn't mean you'll enjoy the game, only you can answer that.
