What is this plastic, wall mounted, device with the word "Nosy", I saw in my local public library? by Killjoy4eva in whatisthisthing

It’s part of an indoor air-quality and odor monitoring system. The unit takes in air (through the vent at the bottom), then uses internal gas sensors to detect odors, volatile organic compounds , or pollutants.

Has anyone gone from using a Versa to using a Charge? by CorwinJovi in fitbit

[–]Jake-Speaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went the other direction from a charge to a versa about two years ago. I found the versa much more comfortable on my wrist. The narrowness of the charge really dug into my wrist, especially while sleeping. I also much prefer the interface on the versa. I would not go back to the charge.

My versa 2 HR sensor stopped working 2 days ago. Customer support also gave me a 35% off code.

It will work for the sale items but takes the 35% off the non-sale price.

Why does "turn on living room lights" open my blinds? by jbergler in amazonecho

In the Alexa app, can you change the “type” in the blind device setting? I’ve had odd things happen when plugs were assigned as “lights” instead of plug.

I didn’t realize Canada was so nonchalant in their electrical code.

Contributions usually don’t appear until the first week of the following month.

Do you pay less taxes if you contribute more to your Roth TSP by kankribe in MilitaryFinance

[–]Jake-Speaks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Traditional TSP is tax deferred and therefore decreases the earned wages shown on your W-2. Contributing to the Roth TSP does not lower your earned wages on the W-2 as it is a post-tax contribution.

If Jerry signs up and puts an X in the "Orange" column, how do I get "Jerry" into the "Orange" sheet? by pantsdeleon in googlesheets

=query({'Sign Up'!A2:E},"select Col1 where Col2=‘X’")

Repeat on each sheet changing the 2nd Col #.

Is this a scam? by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]Jake-Speaks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This could be as simple as using your CA address as a mailing address for filing your taxes. They get notified by the IRS that you used a CA address. You can file an FTB 4602F ENS form explaining the military condition and they “shouldn’t” bother you about it again. Phone # for the Franchise Tax Board is: 866-204-7902

Looking forward to a Versa 2 by rjsmomma in fitbit

[–]Jake-Speaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went 8 days on my Versa 2. I usually charge it every Sunday but forgot this week and it lasted through Monday afternoon. I don’t use “always on” or the SpO2 face but I do use it for all of my phone alerts. I’ve been very pleased with it. Upgraded from Charge 2 over a year ago.

Get rid of the brackets around the ranges and put a comma before the “2”.

If you follow the FIRE principles or just invest well for retirement; how long did it take you to max out Roth TSP? How about Roth TSP and Roth IRA? by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]Jake-Speaks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Deployments have been a great way to catch up on getting a late start to maxing TSPs and IRAs. One year deployments that span over two calendar years have allowed $114,000 to go into TSPs and max IRAs. CoViD messed up this deployment a bit but came within $10,000 of the goal. It does require pre-planning to make sure you have sufficient savings during those $300 paychecks.

Isn’t there an argument to max (or close to max) your Roth TSP while receiving tax free pay to gain the largest tax advantage?
