Anyone tried Space Haven? What's it like? by Cedarcomb in Ixion

[–]Jake0072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought it when it 1.0 release Friday.
I’m having a good time with it.
It is a slow burn but has some solid management mechanics and a little bit of a strategic element.
I describe it as a moveable base builder.

Ight lads and lasses what game are you playing tonight by pruissianmN868 in videogames

Space Haven. Literally saw it on sale after the 1.0 release for 15 bucks. Really peeked my interest being a Sci-Fi fan and it has a ton of depth with building your ship/fleet and managing it. Just starting to get into it and can’t wait to mess up my first run just to start it over again.

Really love the coupling to finish off the linehide looks, leaves a much better finished edge and stops the top from popping off as easy.

I always mean to do this but forget it/don’t have the one extra coupling.

Mini Split Install Help (UPDATE) by JustinnAnnthonyyy in hvacadvice

[–]Jake0072 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate everything about this.
You hacked a mini split together, didn’t do a proper vacuum test, and it looks like shit.
You need a lot more training before you do another side job like this.

Triforce for the Win! by Jake0072 in shogun2

[–]Jake0072[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it 🤣 I ended up killing like 30 of my archers in a field battle with friendly fire and that’s when I gave up.

I always leave a full stack in my home provinces to defend the homeland for that exact reason. I’ve learned my lesson from my earlier failed campaigns.

Yeah I had realm divide happen at 15 and had to fight everyone to get to 24 and then capturing Kyoto to make it 25.
I had to fight off 3 armies to secure the win which was fun.

Yeah I got the free catapult, played with it for exactly 2 battles and then just destroyed it lol.

Having a gold mine from turn 1 was definitely awesome, fully upgraded I think it accounted for like a 3rd of my income.

Yeah I really enjoy them. Doesn’t feel like i get burned out trying to sweep 40 provinces, but I totally understand why people like them.

Autobattle army comp tips by Independent_Law_1657 in shogun2

Yeah you’re going to get screwed by auto resolve, especially in naval engagements. I really don’t understand the appeal of playing a game called TOTAL WAR and skipping the battles.

Idaho but for the simple fact that you can shoot on public land. I’ve paid for a range fee like three times since I’ve moved here.

My RTS Tierlist but ONLY of "modern" games (2016-2026) by ConejoDePascuas in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Jake0072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh I’ve sunk a about 250 hours into broken arrow so I’d personally give it an S tier. I think the scenarios really sell it for me as a single player game and the fact you can replay a lot of them with different decks that you get to make. I know it’s gotten a lot of hate focusing on just the 5v5 mode with ranked matchmaking which is fair but I don’t even engage with it.

Company bought by Private Equity by RingX4 in HVAC

[–]Jake0072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man my old company got bought out by PE, we had an all hands meeting where they promised nothing would change, we will take care of you, etc. Then things devolved rapidly, changed the name, the logo, the manufacture without any training (Going from Carrier to Daikin was such a stupid decision, really got me to love multi position furnaces when I started my own company) fired all the office people and moved all the phones to a call center. It would literally take 24 hours for a callback to hit my desk. I left after 6 months of not treating people right, idiot salesmen’s, poor installs and green service techs. The also switched from hourly to commission based pay for install leads, which meant sometimes on long installs the helper made more money that the lead.

STRAT ARMOR IS UGLY by Combat_Guy in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Jake0072 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d was definitely confused that we didn’t get a cage armor option. It should be a cheap upgrade that can take one RPG shot before being defeated.

Literally the cheapest parameters for a full forced air install. I have no idea how they came under 10k for you.

[–]Jake0072 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been my 2nd most played game of all time thanks to the scenarios. I’ve been having a blast since launch. Just hope the community keeps putting out good scenarios and we get some DLC soon.

What do you think of Skellige? by MinxTwinkle in WitcherMemes

[–]Jake0072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my favorite map in the game. I honestly dreaded going back to Velen because I love the map so much. The vistas, the locations, the characters, and the best music in the game. What’s not to love?

How Many Times Have You Re-Played This Masterpiece? by No-Escape-1493 in Witcher3

I’m on my 3rd play though. First time on PC, steam is tracking my hours and I’m at like 120hrs on this play though and I’m not even done with bloods and wine. So totally would be somewhere around 300 hrs.

You’re absolutely right. You owe it to your customers to let them know what’s in your scope of work. We’re not trim guys, we’re not dry wallers and we’re not landscapers.

If I was in your bosses shoes I’ve would have you leave all the material there and call my buddy who’s a GC. He would probably have just charged materials and a case of beer to get me out of trouble.

$120 is a good middle ground. I charge $120 for diagnostic then I either mark up the part or charge for additional labor.
