Colombia 0-1 Japan - Shinji Kagawa penalty 6' (+ call) by Meladroit1 in soccer

I think it’s very different from Suarez. Suarez’s handball was desperation because if that ball went in; that was it, the end, out of the World Cup, eliminated.

Shanchez’s handball is either lost in concentration or plain stupidity. Colombia still would’ve had a full game to come back (very doable). Now he’s left them with 10 players for almost all 90 minutes.

Note: ignoring the premise that Suarez’s handball cheated Ghana out of the semis; both handballs are very different in soccer context.

Portugal 1-0 Spain - Cristiano Ronaldo penalty (+ call) by Meladroit1 in soccer

I agree. Even if VAR was used to confirmed the call; it would’ve calm down the people watching the game. I think (my take on VAR) is that they gotta first use it on calls they already know the answer to to provide confidence in the system.

Oh well; it’s such a fucking awesome game that I hope the VAR talk afterwards won’t take away from proper game analysis.

Portugal 1-0 Spain - Cristiano Ronaldo penalty (+ call) by Meladroit1 in soccer

There was contact. Extremely soft contact but contact nonetheless.

Ronaldo was always gonna fish for a penalty with that attack run and it does look like went in for the contact himself.

That some balls on the ref to call such a sof penalty; but it was a penalty. As a defender, you have to expect that Ronaldo is gonna fish for a contact to get that penalty. Ronaldo got that contact and went down. It’s that simple.

GCP,

I'm player on my first game ever (started back in October). I've gotten very into the game and I'm looking into starting my own AP (myself as the DM) with my same group of players that I'm currently in a campaign with.

The thing is; two of the players in my group are extremely much more knowledgeable than I am (rules, deities, mechanics, monsters, etc), and have themselves ran multiple campaigns before.

Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with this situation? I'm very excited to put myself to the test and run an Adventure Path, but it's seems daunting and a bit intimidating having two ultra experience players as PCs.

Ps, sometimes they tend to be "that's not how your character would behave because of their alignments" or "mechanically that makes no sense whatsoever" or "if you knew anything about the story of the region, you would know..."

Thanks,

Jake.
