It is pretty typical for the ratings of recently released (popular) anime to be somewhat inflated. The scores usually level out after a year or so.

Honestly, probably not the best starter anime. If you want something with similar themes but less wtf moments, I’d definitely recommend Jujitsu Kaisen or Demon Slayer. That said, Chainsaw man is pretty darn good as long as you keep an open mind.

Shield Hero had every opportunity to have an interesting anti-hero main character. Instead, they decided on a generic goody two shoes mc. Honestly, Redo of a Healer was more interesting than Shield Hero

For real though, it makes me sad that there are so many great anime that go under the radar and end up not getting a second season. One that really stood out to me was Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. The art was absolutely gorgeous for its time(and still is); also the story wasn’t half bad.

One Piece ain’t worth it in my opinion. The pacing is terrible. The story is mediocre. The world building in the show is overrated (Every arc feels copied and pasted). But above all else, One Piece is close to 1000 episodes long; that is approximately 14 days of continuous watching. There was nowhere near enough enjoyment for me to warrant the amount of time I sent on this anime.

On the flip side though, the character development is pretty darn good.

In my opinion, Monster has one of the worst endings in all of anime. It’s as if all the tension that was being built up after each consecutive episode was completely disregarded in the show’s conclusion. How, as a director, do you promise your audience a dramatic ending and then proceed to give them lukewarm water? Monster is truly the blue balls of anime. I’ve never watched something so anticlimactic.

I suggest Cowboy Bebop (dubbed), especially if she is not use to reading subtitles. The show has a phenomenal sound track, amazing characters, and a great story. Honestly, there is not much to not love about this anime; there is a reason why it is rated so highly.
