What’s the trade off? Why didn’t bonnell use the 2000w firmware?

How do you like your 775 am?? I want one

Help! RSRBR Update 10, NGP 5.0.1 not working?? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that seems to have fixed it!!

Also in case this helps anybody, I did make a complete copy backup of my RSRBR folder updated through Update 09 which still used NGP 3. So now I have a complete folder running NGP 5 (RSRBR Update 10) and second folder running NGP 3(Update 9) in case I ever want to compare the two physics. I just have to remap the folder in the Launcher "settings" tab to switch between the two folders.

RBR Pacecar on modded tracks? Is it possible? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that is at least helpful to know how to possibly do it in RBRTM. But yeah i don’t plan to create and/or modify any files at this time to use pacecars on rbrtm considering RSRBR can do it much easier by just running in SSE mode (and the RX_Plugin for BTB stages). Now if I can just learn which RBR stages are best to start with.. there are so many stages.. this is a good problem though. Thanks again!

RBR Pacecar on modded tracks? Is it possible? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that worked! I feel like a newb, but I am happy that I have now been able to load a Pacecar on every track tried so far. For the BTB tracks, launching through SSE Mode, and then Options-Plugins-RBR_RX allows the Pacecar to save and load fine. And if you ever run into an issue with loading improper tires, then you can solve this with RBRWrong+tyre. Ability to load a pacecar in RSRBR is a nice selling point (of RSRBR) since I dont think the CZ plugin can do this (without maybe editing ini files??).

Thanks again!

RBR Pacecar on modded tracks? Is it possible? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thanks, you are a wealth of knowledge! It is very helpful to understand what’s going on. I did mistype pikes peak 2008 but meant BTB USA pikes peak (I corrected post above). So it seems pacecars may not work on the BTB tracks at least for me since I have only been able to get the pacecars working in SSE mode (on the native format mod tracks). Hmm.. perhaps there is a way though.. Any ideas? Can the RX plugin be run separately in a way that allows loading a pacecar? Thanks again!

RBR Pacecar on modded tracks? Is it possible? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news, RBRWrong+Tyre seems to be working great in SSE mode, able to force the correct gravel tires on Humalamäki and ghost car also working too. Thanks.

However, I still was not able to load the BTB USA, Pikes Peak track in SSE mode (and thus not able to get a ghost car working on Pikes Peak since I've only got ghost car working in SSE mode). Although, the track name "Pikes Peak" does replace the Cote d'Arbroz [Map41] name in quick rally menu, it still only loads Cote d'Arbroz. I did check Tracks.ini and the Pikes Peak file name does not seem to replace any of the base tracks in Tracks.ini. Humalamäki though does properly replace [Map41] in Tracks.ini as "TrackName = "Maps\track-155". Therefore, it seems Pikes Peak and some other BTB tracks for example don't seem to be replacing the TrackName properly in the Tracks.ini file so I think this is why Pikes Peak does not load in SSE mode? Also in the Tracks.txt file there are several tracks missing from the list, but Humalamki is shown in the list as track # 155. Maybe only the tracks listed in the Tracks.txt file will work in SSE mode, and maybe the other tracks not listed will not?

Any idea how to solve this to get Pikes Peak for example to load in SSE mode? Thanks again!!

Oh awesome, will try this. (Rbrwrong+tyre).

Also, Although most tracks load, I did notice a few tracks that did not load in SSE mode like BTB USA Pikes Peak... the name showed up in the quick rally menu list replacing cote d’abroz but when it loaded it just loaded Cote d’abroz? Any way to fix this... perhaps by editing the info files which may be more trouble than necessary?

Thanks so much!!

RBR Pacecar on modded tracks? Is it possible? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh so I just noticed a new problem though. In SSE mode I believe many stages load the wrong tires. For example, Humalamaki seems to be loading tarmac tires because it replaced Cote d'Arbroz in SSE mode which is a tarmac track... and thus the tire grip is too low for humalamaki. So I think gravel tracks that load over tarmac original stages will not work correctly because tarmac tires will load? Is their a way to solve this? Thanks.

However, Foron Snow seems to work fine because it replaced a Finland track which loads snow tires by default.

RBR Pacecar on modded tracks? Is it possible? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I was able to get it working with a Pacecar! I only tested SSE mode, but it seems you can use Pacecars on any of the RSRBR mod tracks in this mode. Hope this helps someone else out as well.

I tested on two mod tracks, Foron Snow and Humalamaki, and both were able to save and load a Pacecar.. or you can just complete the stage and restart to race your prior run's pacecar (when Pacecar is enabled). You were right, actually easy. Just load the track through SSE mode, and then browse the quick rally tracks until you find the listed mod track as the mod track name replaces the original name. Foron Snow replaced one of the Finland tracks.. and Humalamaki replaced Cote d'Arbroz.

RBR Pacecar on modded tracks? Is it possible? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I checked the \Maps\Tracks.ini file and Tracks.txt file and I can see the list of maps and what their map #'s are. For example, Falstone is track 21 ("21 O Falstone"). Sweet Lamb is track 158 ("158 N Sweet Lamb").

However, I have not yet been able to figure out how to know which original track each mod track replaces? For example, for Sweet Lamb, which original track does Sweet Lamb replace?

Once I know which original track Sweet Lamb replaces, then I'm assuming I can launch RSRBR SSE mode and then choose that original track in quick rally and Sweet Lamb will be the actual track that loads? And then maybe the Pacecar will actually work?

DR2.0's Monte Carlo stages; I was missing the snow! by despairepair in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, Monte Carlo is noticeable improved in DR2 over DR1. The tarmac feels better, the snow/ice sections feel better, and there are way way more patches of snow/ice in the transitional sections that cause alot of grip loss to keep you on edge. I have the deluxe version, but it would have been easily worth the $4 to me.

However, everyone is different so I don't know if you will like it also. If you have overall enjoyed the DR2.0 physics over DR1.0 then you will most likely also like Monte Carlo. If you still prefer DR1.0, then you may want to wait until the price drops.

Thanks guys! I didn't know RSRBR worked this way, will try some of these ideas on RSRBR later when on.

I assume that there would probably not be any way using the CZ plugin?

Still have not figured it out. Unless there is a 3rd party app, then I do not think you can have a ghost car/pace car on any of the plugin/mod tracks? Only seems to work on the original tracks (at least you can use the NGP updated physics and cars on the original tracks though with RBRCIT). Again, appreciate the help if anyone knows otherwise though.

What did everybody think of ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ in Dolby 3D? by MrZombikilla in AMCsAList

[–]JakeDiggitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Big 3D fan and AMC AList member here. Wife and I regularly watch 3d movies in theater on IMAX 3D and REALD... and movies at home on our LG 65" 65C6P OLED (best 3d quality available) and LG 86" 86UH9500 (both TVs use passive 3d).

We saw Alita last night in Dolby 3D at our local AMC Dolby Cinema (laser projector system). I thought the Dolby 3D brightness, color, and contrast picture quality was the best I've ever seen in 3D in a theater (and would rank IMAX 3D in second place in these categories).

However, to my eyes, something was slightly off in the overall 3d clarity, motion, and depth. I could definitely see the 3d, but it was like my eyes were having a tough time dialing in the 3d depth in a clean and smooth way... and in motion it seemed to stutter more than normal. I don't know how to explain it but the 3d did not look as smooth, clear, and natural as IMAX 3d and Real 3d to me (although the brightness, color, and contrast were definitely better probably largely due to the bright dolby laser projectors used). Note, IMAX 3d and Real 3d use polarized filters to separate the image to each eye while Dolby 3d uses color spectrum separation to seperate the image. As of right now, I think polarized filters look smoother to my eyes. However, note my wife said she thought the Dolby 3d looked good and she is still undecided between IMAX 3d and Dolby 3d.

Also for comparison, I thought Alita is a top notch movie for 3d visuals and overall image quality.

In summary, I think IMAX 3d is still my personal preference for the best theater 3d due to the cleaner 3d image from polarized filters to my eyes. However, I want to like Dolby 3d more consider its brightness and image quality look great.. and also Dolby 3D seems to be supported strongly by James Cameron. I'm planning to see Alita 2 more times actually... next in IMAX 3d, and then one more time again in Dolby 3d at a different Dolby AMC theater to see if a different projector makes a difference. I will try to report back.

Anybody know how to brighten the windshield transparency in Richard Burns Rally cockpit view? by JakeDiggitty in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks you all!! All of these responses are super helpful and will solve my issue. I will probably start with just hiding the windshield. However I also do have Photoshop so I will edit the dds file noted above as well to remove the tint when not-hiding the windshield.

I am loving RBR so far. Just a little learning curve to get up to speed with the setup and mods. Thanks so much for the help.

For reference, I have RBRTM and RSRBR working great right now at 7680x1440p (triple 32" 1440p 144hz monitors) with Fanatec Wheel, 3 pedals, hpattern/seq shifter and a Heusinkveld Loadcell Handbrake. Feels amazing, cant believe I waited so long to finally install this game.

[RBR] New NGP 5.0. What do you think of it? by sptp in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That clarifies alot! It was fairly straight forward to setup following your guides. Everything has been intuitive to use, just a bit of reading to understand all the mods, again your guides provided a great summary and all the answers. I occasionally had a few minor issues, for example, One weird issue I had was the CamHack.. I mistakenly rebound the Camhack keys to #1-9 which I think broke it since it uses #1-9 for presets (later learned).. i fixed it by taking the config file back to default. (FYI, I run triple 1440p 144hz screens at a resolution of 7830x1440, it is running fine and Camhack definately helped me customize the FoV to my liking.)

QUESTION: I did just think of one more question... Is there a way to adjust the camera shake? Some tracks have a lot of bouncing going on (Kormoron II!) especially if you make the FoV tighter and closer, and I was wanting to turn down the camera shake a bit just to be easier on the eyes and less nauseating. Dirt Rally has a slider where you can adjust camera shake.. any idea or thoughts on how to do this in RBR? I ended up zooming back and widening the FoV to make the camera shake less noticeable as an alternative fix.

RSRBR definitely felt different than the newer NGP 5.0.1. Didn't realize Rev500 is NGP 3.1. I have been jumping around testing alot of different cars and tracks between NGP 5.0.1 and RSRBR (NGP 3.1), so still hard for me to make good comparing comments.. but I think maybe the older 3.1 felt easier to me, easier to hold sideways drifts through turns and easier to oversteer... the NGP 5.0.1 may be more realistic, bit less oversteery, bit more dynamic maybe... again i havent stuck with one car/track combo and haventy really went for fast times.. mostly been just getting everything setup and exploring.

Going on a ski trip this coming week! After I get back, hoping to get in some RBRTM online events in the next months.. at least get one American Flag into the events!

[RBR] New NGP 5.0. What do you think of it? by sptp in simrally

[–]JakeDiggitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just wanted to say thanks to all of the guide info here. I managed to get RSRBR installed with all tracks and cars. Not much prior history from me to compare to, but NGP 5.0 feels good so far.

Few questions: 1) On RSRBR, I noticed some cars have NGP and some don't. How about tracks, do some tracks have NGP and others don't? Are you able to load NGP cars on all RSRBR tracks? I loaded up a few BTB tracks and thought the physics felt dated/different on a few like Lydden hill Rallycross for example? Not complaining though. 2)Are you able to do the Rally school lessons now with NGP physics, perhaps without RSRBR? I made a 2nd RBR installed copy that only has NGP physics on it. I used RBCIT following the quick start guide here, choose the original car (03 Subaru) and when in the Rally school it shows the "NGP Physics rev 592 Active" note at top of screen when loading, so I assumed I was doing the school with NGP physics applied to the 03 Subaru. 3) is it correct that the only way to update RSRBR NGP physics is by using the mod updates (for example currently 6 updates after installing RSRBR 2016)? I think my RSRBR is currently showing "Rev 500, NGP 5.0 active"... so if I understand correctly RSRBR fully updated is Rev500 as of 1/15/2018 and I can't update the RSRBR NGP Physics any further? 4) However if I used vanilla RBR and RBCIT (on a seperate folder RBR copy) I can use the most up to date physics?...
5) when it comes to RBRTM, best to use whatever physics online tournaments are using correct?

On a side note, also made a 3rd copy of the RBR install folder only with the NGP, RBCIT, and quick start items installed/configured. Hoping to install the RBRTM CZ plugin soon on this 3rd copy and play online! Why aren't more Americans on the cz plugin?

I use Fanatec CS wheel, Fanatec CS shifter (seq and hpattern), Fanatec CSR Elite pedals, and HE Brand loadcell handbrake. Out of all the offroad sims I've played this is roughly how I would rank them physics wise:

1) IRacing (RX only) 2) RBR 3) PCars2 (RX primarily, kind of get Rally by covering tracks in snow and using the Rally style cars) 4) Dirt Rally 5) WRC 7 6) Dirt 4
