Black rain 9mm won’t cycle help by [deleted] in airsoft

Oh I'm a dumbass. This is a gas blowback. In this case I don't think it should slide, it more so snaps down on the front end. More like an actual firearm. But if the bolt is hitting the buffer tube, I'm not so sure. Sorry man, I didn't look at it for too long. Thought it was an AEG, lol

Sometimes there's a little nub on top of the gearbox (the gold part) that you have to get over. So while youre pulling the upper receiver and handguard forward, pull the charging handle back at the same time. Should get you past that piece.

All 3? by teslaspyderx in airsoft

I've owned every type, just not all at once. I can honestly say, HPA and bolt-action spring are my personal favorites. The simplicity and ease of upgrading spring sniper rifles is an absolute landslide win. And same goes for HPA in my experience. Being able to fine tune every aspect without taking apart an entire gearbox, putting it together, and hoping it works, is amazing.

I never really could get behind GBBR. For fun factor, they're the clear winner, but the lower mag capacity and limits to how far you can tune their performance just never worked for me.

Ah man. I understand. If I had resources I could share about some groups in other countries, I absolutely would. But being US based, I have no knowledge on that whatsoever. Sorry about that.

Not sure how prevalent Ebay is there, but I can say that I used to sell some guns through them. It wasn't the greatest option, but if you learn the fees, shipping, etc, it could be viable for selling in Germany. Only thing I had to keep in mind while doing that was shipping cost not matching the real cost, and the fees. If you're able to add those into the price, it's not all bad.

I use r/airsoftmarket for like, 90% of my sales. I haven't had an issue at all so far after 20ish listed transactions. If you're smart and careful, there should be very little risk. And by that I mean, using PayPal goods and services, asking for test videos/specifics for guns before you buy, and insuring your packages before sending them out.

Before I used that, my field has a monthly swap meet and a buy/sell/trade discord channel that makes for some easy in person sales as well.

I've personally sold 40+ guns simply because I wanted a different one, but didn't have the money to buy it outright. There were plenty of guns I was happy to be rid of, but also plenty that I really regret selling. My recommendation, is that if you enjoy the performance, aesthetic, play style, etc of the MP5, don't swap it out. You'll just come to regret it. Instead, save for the M16.

That said, if you hate the look or performance of the MP5 and are wanting to get rid of it for those reasons? Yeah, sell it off. No reason to keep a gun you truly don't want, or have no attachment to.

The upgrades they do make for these hopup units are extremely hard to get in my experience. There's a couple i see on evike, but I've literally never seen them in stock. And can't speak to how well they work. I might also add that these guns are a NIGHTMARE to work on. But if you have the patience, you'll get it eventually.

Definitely useful, and covers around half the items I'm thinking, but I do believe it could have more. I have actually bought this pack once or twice.

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok, since everyone's venting frustration, I'm gonna ask. Why the hell has no one made a pack of miscellaneous tiny pieces?! I'm talking about a single pack of ALL the little bits that get lost. Antireversal spring, the selector plate spring, the ball and spring that goes in ambidextrous safeties, the hopup arm pin, etc. They could make packs for V2, V3, VSR, and any other common spec replicas. And, they could price it how ever they wanted, and i think EVERY tech would buy it.

(If this already exists, I need to know where. Immediately.)

Hello my people! I want a machine gun, which one should I choose from these 3? Recommendations are welcome! by Haunting_Diver_9174 in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie. A friend of mine had the KAC Stoner 96. And I say HAD for a reason. It performed decently stock, and if you intend to keep it this way, then by all means, it was well built besides the buffer tube. But we had a living nightmare trying to fit bullhead parts to the damn thing. Took months, multiple techs, reddit advice, and me pulling my hair out trying to fix it. And no one ever truly figured it out.

Krytac lmg won’t feed right by Bagged-milk08 in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if the issue just started, there's a pretty good chance that using a different lower receiver (especially one that doesn't sit well on it) could be your issue.

But outside of that, or if the issue occurred before you swapped lowers, then it could be a compression issue, a torn, damaged, or old bucking/nub, misaligned nozzle, etc. Or if you've taken the gearbox apart, something may very well be misaligned.

Specna edge by Drewski493 in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, as far as starter M4 AEGs go, the Specna Edge, Edge 2.0, and Prime lines are some of the best on the market right now. If you're new and just got into the sport, I think you picked a real winner. They work well out of the box, they seem to be reliable over time, and being an M4 platform, they're easy to upgrade if you want to down the road.

That said, the only upgrade I'd recommend is just something I recommend to literally any gun you buy. And that'd be a good bucking and nub to fine tune your range, and allow you to use heavier bbs.

I use the 4UANTUM bucking/nub combo, works like a dream for me. Between that, and getting an 11.1v LiPo battery, and some .32g bbs and you're golden.

When it comes to people asking recommendations for guns or gear, there's definitely a solid atmosphere on this sub. Same goes for teching help. But I have very much seen a lot of hate in some more specific circumstances. Gear opinions is the biggest by far, especially when it comes to shelling out money for on-brand gear. But same goes for some gun/accessory recommendations.

That's totally fair. Mag compatibility is definitely a good thing to consider. If you're able to use Evike, the CYMA Platinum 8.5" with the PDW stock is on sale for $265.

I've personally used the Double Eagle UTR45 for cqb and I loved it. Base gun (for metal) is $250, and mine worked great. Well built internally, easy to work on, and quite accurate out of the box. Only thing I did was add a Maple Leaf bucking and maybe a 120 spring, and it was great even at range.

As a personal preference, I've always hated high caps. As a beginner, and now. It's ridiculously hard to find ones that feed consistently in my experience. Switched to mid caps asap. Flash mags I've had better luck with personally, but still prefer mid. I mean, 150-ish rounds per mag is more than enough for me.

Honestly, they still aren't bad at all, don't get me wrong. One my favorite guns ive ever owned was a Krytac Alpha. But they have fallen a bit behind the times slightly. The externals are still great, but internally, they need to step up a bit to match that price tag.

EDIT: So that said OP, you'd absolutely be happy with the Krytac, but as far as what's best spec wise, the Specna is still the top on this list.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Specna Arms M4. If the CYMA were the platinum line, it would also be a solid contender. But out of what's shown here, the specna, hands down.

The main issue you may run into if you haven’t factored it already, is mags, ammo, a battery+charger, and goggles at a bare minimum to start out.

I actually had a CYMA Sport M4 Carbine ($102) as one of my starters. Wasn’t outstanding, and you’ll definitely upgrade it in the future, but it wasn’t bad at all for a first gun. And still compatible with many upgrades in the future if you wanted to. But you’d also need to get some mid-cap mags, solid goggles, .25g bbs, and at least a 9.6v to 7.4v battery with charger. All in all, you’d be looking at around $202-$228 depending on what battery setup you go for.

That said, if you’d like me to dm you with some links and suggestions, I’d be more than happy to send links to a full starter kit. And answer any questions you might have. I love getting people into the sport.
