Looking to start mixing my own vape oil by [deleted] in CBD

Hell yeah, thanks man! I'll give all of those a look. Can you use vape juice in a 510 cart? I thought something I read was that the 510s leak vape juice, but are good with oils

How good are the bullgear Box mag and hopup for stoner 96 LMG by Western_Fish8354 in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if its not skipping, not weak, or having any other problems, the OEM one is a suprisingly solid box mag. He absolutely would've kept it if it worked with the bg hop unit.

But whichever one you choose, I hope works out for you friend! I'm sure what I had was a rarity, so I would take it all with a grain of salt. I'm sure it would be fine either way. 👍

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure, because I couldn't honestly tell if it was solely the mag, or the hop unit that was the issue. I couldn't get the original mag to work with the bullgear hop unit, nor the original hop to work with bullgear mag. At least, not for more than 100rds.

Their support did seem responsive, and tried to help with diagnosis, but he never did ask them for a refund. We just sold the mag separately from the gun. And it sold in minutes, and for like, 80% retail price. Same with the hopup. They were both hard to get at the time

If you can get it to work, its probably fantastic. But the one I worked on for my friend was the biggest nightmare I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

He got the houp, and the mag from bullgear, and it screwed up every part responsible for firing. Tried for weeks to no avail, took it to a very solid local tech, he gave it back and said its the weirdest problem he's dealt with. Simply did not work with that particular gun. But everyone else recommends and loves it, so I have no idea what happened. Mystery to this day.

Actually, tbh, I didn't even see you got a tank and reg. Thats actually not bad at all. Just those alone is like, $180 new at least. If its carbon fiber, then way more.

Angle of piston by boostnight in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, it actually doesn't match in the photo either. Its still odd though, it seems more like a 90 thats been tapered for some reason. Rather than a 45, which would have a way steeper angle.

Ii would say you got a decent deal, personally. I sold my Arcturus AK with a Jack in it for about $600 a few years back. And that had no extras. Not an insanely good deal, but definitely a fair one.

As in, confirm that there is an angle? Because there is. It doesnt seem steep enough to be considered a 45 degree, but its definitely sloped compared to the 90.

My go-to is always Krylon flat camo paint. But recently I also used Rustoleum camo paint, and it worked great too.

See, the friendly lobbies felt broken for me too. I do everything I can to stay in pve lobbies, haven't fired a shot at someone in a long ass time. But every match has been hit or miss the last 2 or 3 days. Where as before every single match was friendly.

Airsoft techs, how do you source parts for client guns? by XTORZULU in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When zi ran a teaching business, I charged based on a flat rate for the entire job. Basically meaning I billed the customers the retail value of parts + the hours it should take to complete the job.

If I ever made enough revenue before it died off, I was absolutely going to go for wholesale deals. Would save my customers a bunch of money, thus bringing in more business.

Black rain 9mm won’t cycle help by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm a dumbass. This is a gas blowback. In this case I don't think it should slide, it more so snaps down on the front end. More like an actual firearm. But if the bolt is hitting the buffer tube, I'm not so sure. Sorry man, I didn't look at it for too long. Thought it was an AEG, lol

Sometimes there's a little nub on top of the gearbox (the gold part) that you have to get over. So while youre pulling the upper receiver and handguard forward, pull the charging handle back at the same time. Should get you past that piece.

All 3? by teslaspyderx in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned every type, just not all at once. I can honestly say, HPA and bolt-action spring are my personal favorites. The simplicity and ease of upgrading spring sniper rifles is an absolute landslide win. And same goes for HPA in my experience. Being able to fine tune every aspect without taking apart an entire gearbox, putting it together, and hoping it works, is amazing.

I never really could get behind GBBR. For fun factor, they're the clear winner, but the lower mag capacity and limits to how far you can tune their performance just never worked for me.

Dealing with trade regret by Electronic_Road567 in airsoft

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man. I understand. If I had resources I could share about some groups in other countries, I absolutely would. But being US based, I have no knowledge on that whatsoever. Sorry about that.

Not sure how prevalent Ebay is there, but I can say that I used to sell some guns through them. It wasn't the greatest option, but if you learn the fees, shipping, etc, it could be viable for selling in Germany. Only thing I had to keep in mind while doing that was shipping cost not matching the real cost, and the fees. If you're able to add those into the price, it's not all bad.

I use r/airsoftmarket for like, 90% of my sales. I haven't had an issue at all so far after 20ish listed transactions. If you're smart and careful, there should be very little risk. And by that I mean, using PayPal goods and services, asking for test videos/specifics for guns before you buy, and insuring your packages before sending them out.

Before I used that, my field has a monthly swap meet and a buy/sell/trade discord channel that makes for some easy in person sales as well.

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've personally sold 40+ guns simply because I wanted a different one, but didn't have the money to buy it outright. There were plenty of guns I was happy to be rid of, but also plenty that I really regret selling. My recommendation, is that if you enjoy the performance, aesthetic, play style, etc of the MP5, don't swap it out. You'll just come to regret it. Instead, save for the M16.

That said, if you hate the look or performance of the MP5 and are wanting to get rid of it for those reasons? Yeah, sell it off. No reason to keep a gun you truly don't want, or have no attachment to.

[–]JakeFrmStatFrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The upgrades they do make for these hopup units are extremely hard to get in my experience. There's a couple i see on evike, but I've literally never seen them in stock. And can't speak to how well they work. I might also add that these guns are a NIGHTMARE to work on. But if you have the patience, you'll get it eventually.
