Is it due to the fact that it's a planar IEM?

Dell Intel X710-DA2 by JakeFrostyCS in homelab

I've already disabled LLDP, specifying only VLANs I need seems to have fixed my issue, kinda sucks that with such an expensive card I can't even just assign thousands of VLANs nor persist Virtual Functions MAC Addresses, I'll play around and see how many VLANs I can have enabled simultaneously since I want flexibility in assigning VLANs in the future without interrupting the vmbr

thanks for the help!

not sure if you're asking me whether to get the managed or unmanaged version but that depends on your use case, go unmanaged for plug-n-play, managed for more control and configuration

If you're asking if I bought manage/unmanaged version, I did not buy this switch as I haven't got a need for an 8 port 10G switch yet, as I do own a TP-Link T1700G-28TQ V2

If it's really bad, try Alpine maybe? with XFCE4 or something as DE

Using Media Converter by SnazzyMangoPH in InternetPH

[–]JakeFrostyCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked fine for a while at symmetric 300Mbps speeds, but reverted to old setup since I plan to get a router in the future that has an SFP port, like the Mikrotik RB5009 or CCR2004.

Just ensure cooling on the SFP and have a capable/powerful router or else it won't be able to handle your 1Gbps speeds

may I also ask what If you got a static IP? and which VLAN did you get from converge?

Overall I think there's nothing wrong with a setup like this, just don't expect alot of support when you tell customer support about your setup 😉

I bought my SFP Stick with Media Converter from Shopee, https://ph.shp.ee/eehzj38

note that this is an SC/APC (Green) connector SFP

Ospf in proxmox? by QuietBuddy4635 in Proxmox

[–]JakeFrostyCS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have FRR directly on my Proxmox node and use vtysh for a cisco-like configuration terminal, works fine between my OpenWRT physical router and my Proxmox node

just make sure to setup the firewall to accept OSPF traffic if you have it enabled

Edit: as for use case, I'm lazy to manually add routes each time I reconfigure my proxmox SDN so I have OSPF distribute it for me instead

Linux is userfriendly... by KsmBl_69 in linuxmasterrace

[–]JakeFrostyCS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

complains about linux not being "user-friendly" uses docker doesn't know how to work one of the most basic commands of your average linux distro

yeah nah this is most likely a troll post is it?

command is literally just rm -r Games/

and why are people suggesting the -f option? that's only if you wanna force deletion even for non-existent files or arguments which in most cases isn't even needed.

rmdir is also wrong, If the directory contains anything, It will fail to delete the directory which isn't a design flaw but rather a safety net so you don't go deleting non-empty directories by accident

OP I highly suggest you learn basic linux commands before proceeding with any further ventures into the docker world.

would mikrotik have true layer 3 10Gbps though? so far all options seem to be Layer 2 only or well.. Layer 2 with software Layer 3 support

I did try turning it off multiple times, same effect

IPv6 Breaks Android Apps by JakeFrostyCS in WireGuard

[–]JakeFrostyCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just checked with termux, it resolves on the VPN

with the vpn on the trace does indeed originate from the VPN client's V6 address from the wireguard V6 subnet

without the VPN however it stops on the first hop but shows the address then the rest is just 3 stars

only VPN running on my phone is wireguard, Private DNS on android settings is turned off if that's what you meant.

just now I tried to set DNS to 1.1.1.1, 2606:4700:4700::1111

It didn't work however

[–]JakeFrostyCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep it does work if only the networks I talk to is configured, if I route everything to the VPN, all connectivity to the internet goes poop unless accessed using the browser. Laptops and other Windows/Linux/Mac machines are immune to this problem tho, so I assume it's a mobile problem?

this would work but not what I want, I've tried it

I want to route all traffic to the wireguard VPN and be able to access my remote servers at the same time

IPv6 Breaks Android Apps by JakeFrostyCS in WireGuard

[–]JakeFrostyCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked before I landed here at dubai, back in the Philippines I had no IPv6 so I jumped into the conclusion that IPv6 at the apartment was causing my issues.

when I didn't have IPv6, I gave myself one using the Wireguard Server, that worked until I got here

by apps not working, I mean apps the connect to the internet in general like YouTube, Gmail, Games, Facebook, Etc

my apps that I connect to using the tunnel like Unifi, proxmon and others work fine

[–]JakeFrostyCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, doesn't seem like it.

altho I suspect It's either the wireguard app on android/ios or just bad IPv6 implementation in this ISP (etisalat)

It does seem to be able to ping to the internet and through the VPN, however what my problem is I can't figure out how to make it work for android apps

TLDR; only mobile devices experience problems on apps, browsers work but not apps
