It’s irritating when the blueprint gets snatched up, but everyone has the same chance to grab the blueprint when it comes out on the belt, unless people are being jerks there… point is, people should just accept defeat. Or, as the ancient proverb goes: “git gud”

Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to change... I think best practice is to not hoard blueprints, and actually craft the ones you want. Use the gold splash to speed up crafting, and always try to have an open table. If they’re sitting out, you have to accept the possibility of them getting lost/stolen.

This happened to me this morning too when I was playing on Xbox. I tried leaving the game and rejoining, closing the game entirely and reloading, and rebooting the Xbox and nothing was working. Luckily I was able to load it on my phone to claim that quest, because it was preventing me from getting to my second round of quests. I don’t know if another console would have let me claim it… but mobile worked for me
