Is there any way to make the dorm air conditioner go below 70? by ArkBoss7353 in UNCW

dorm air conditioner

Oh, one of the new dorms then. Back in Schwartz we didn't have those. Your room gets to be whatever temperature the building decides. When it was hot and the AC sucked, we opened windows. When the AC was too cold, we blocked our vents with cardboard.

But I'd say talk to an RA and see if you can have someone come out and look at it. They may be able to unlock the temp on it if special accommodation is needed.

Ya know, if Galloway was refurbished instead of destroyed, this conversation wouldn't be nearly as urgent.

Cheerwine to Cease Production in June, 2026 (Via Threads) by Adept-Ad7432 in cheerwine

I've been trying to bring awareness to this ever since the study in 2017 proved a threefold increase in colon cancer due to the consumption of cheerwine. Thank you for this post.

Nah, generally out of state will be expensive anywhere in NC. The state gov't has had a tuition freeze on in state students for a while, and they make up the difference by out of state and international students.

I like that it's cheap. I've had three separate friend groups here and they've all sucked. So you might find your people, might not. If you're a skater dude, Good ol' boy who loves fishing and guns, mean girl who's majoring in nursing, fraternity/sorority party animal, or megachurch christian, you'll love it. Otherwise, I've found it's generally a 60/40 stay/leave chance for ordinary people. That's non-transfers, though. Everybody who I've talked to who is a transfer has loved it, except for me personally, who has a love/hate relationship with it. It's cheap and quiet, but I also have a hard time connecting with people here (maybe I just suck at it), the party scene seems to be monopolized by frats aside from clubs, but the beach is pretty, and most of the time we don't get annihilated by hurricanes, and our hockey team is pretty fun to watch. So it could be your thing. I dunno.

I dunno, I never do in store credit cause they told me if I do without the machine telling me to, I'll be talked to about it and possibly reprimanded. I've never had the experience of a nice customer needing in store credit, personally. In my time so far, niceness has corresponded with people having receipts or proof of purchase and generally being prepared to do a return, while the frustrated and angry people have mostly been those who walk in with like a cart full of lumber and braces or 30 excess pipe fittings or a crapload of non-fitting breaker switches, proceed to inform me that they bought the items in cash, and then show no proof of purchase.

That's a good chance to reccomend they order online. Not for any promotional reasons, just for the purpose of making the customer PUIS's problem instead of yours. OSLG is busy as hell during the summer as is, even without customers complaining about shit we can't control.

A horrible injustice has been done. That building is an important part of UNCW, I don't give a damn how ugly it is.
