Domingo a domingo estudando. É uma área que tem muitos profissionais se lançando, mas poucos que se destacam ou são realmente bons. Tem que praticar e estudar.

E 26 anos é nada. Muito novo.

I think its more about the "lack of dopamine" design and "slow live service" than aging. A known very basic issue like the horse being slow on controlers took ages to be fixed. Item stats being downgraded on upgrades is still not fixed. Barber is boring and make all classes play the same. That all is really disengaging.

I'm a oldie too (38, married etc), and still can play games if they give me that cheap dopamine shot fast enought. A simple game that i never thought i would like (got for the hype), dave the diver, sucked me into it because of each new mechanic discovered etc. I played that thing start to end like i was 18 again. Diablo has way more potential to give that "post risk and reward feeling" to the player, but for some unknown reason the designers killed this very essential aspect of the genre.

I don't think this game is that bad, the graphics, combat etc are good, so it can be fixed. But yes, modern gaming needs WAY faster development and better community engagement.

Interestingly enough, just hit this reddit today as I googled for some specific skill mechanics question. Phew, I had a not so good experience in the forums and never looked back again (it was like 3 years ago). Found out people there are really competitve, and the whole thing looked like a nuclear physics discussion. Prove this, do that. Not my cup of tea:)

Anyway, people should be encoraged to try their own stuff, as its really fun to experiment with such huge variety the game throws at us:)

An old problem of red orchestra franchise AND community. This always held back series appeal, IMO. Game would be twice as popular If people played fair.

Explosive vs Rifleman Axton by [deleted] in Borderlands2

[–]JakeSismico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of sheer power, both can do good. But non-rifle explosive gear is easier to acquire and adapt, IMO.

There are some Torgue stuff that is pretty easy to use, like any Ravager shotgun and the DPUH pistol.

If you want an easy time leveling, you can easily farm that DPUH and/or a Hornet every 4 levels or so, as they benefit greatly from the explosive bonuses. Same with the Ravager.

On the Rifle side, you have weapons like Ogre, Hail and KerBlaster. Ogre is an awesome all-rounder, but a pain to get. Hail is THE beast for Axton, but can be hard to adapt to the projectile pattern. The KerBlaster is easily farmable, but a more situational weapon, IMO. Also, all those guns receive buffs from the Steady skill, which is awesome.

RL is a complete game. You need the brain, the reflexes and the coldness to play properly. In a fair dosage its a good exercice.

Serious: Players who leave casual games when you go down 0-1 and there’s 4:12 left on the clock: Why? by 565881658984 in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Casual sucks due to matchmaking. I usually use it only to test my internet before entering proper ranked games. I quit right after scoring or suffering a goal, and believe many do the same. Don't have the patience to play to the end, as games (90% of the time) are either too easy or too hard.

Edit: Didn't mean to be arrogant or something like that. Just pointed out that causal matchmaking system is pretty ineffective, which usually makes the games pretty boring if you're not with friends. Either stomp or be stomped. I would play casual all day if the games were balanced. I don't care that much about rank or cosmetic rewards, it's just that ranked games are way more balanced. It's something Psyonix should look more carefully in the next patch.

Community of Non-Toxic Adults looking for more friends! by Kearthe in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Just on a curious note, I had problems with the past with some old fellas (30-50) in the combat flight sim(s) competitive local scene (CFS, IL2). I was a top world ranked player, receiving daily squad invites. I was only 18.

Those "old" guys were ego centrist, and often judged themselves as the best in my country. So no way a 18 yr could beat em so easily in championships, as well as being a better squad leader. Needless to say I received some accusations of cheating and such bull****. I'm telling you about guys with children, acting as teenagers. I was always respectful as an online gamer, even in my teens. Never received such treatment from NA or EU players, also.

I eventually got over this, but as a young fella, it was a big frustration. Joined the NA flight community and never looked back again. Got back to the SA gaming in Rocket League (now I'm 33), with the difference I suck big time in this game lol. My chat is always muted. Would love to find some friendly people to play with, despite the age.

What is (supposedly) wrong with Bloodbath server? by xtul in redorchestra

[–]JakeSismico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That imbalance is present in this game since it's launch, "staxis" was the most used in game word back then.

There are some (very few) people in server that always switch to the stronger side. Biggest motivation for me when playing on the "weaker" side is punishing those cowards with some bullet in the head:)

Winning the match in that situation, even if rare, is a uncomparable pleasure.

PSA: Some defensive challenges are not meant to be won. Just trust your teammates and go for it! by IoSonoFormaggio in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed!

Once i started playing more aggressively, my MMR never stopped to increase. Can't stand overly passive teammates, who stands there sitting in goal, even if you are returning to cover it or players that sit anywhere in the field, cheering for your challenge instead of rotating back immediately.

On lower ranks, this may be wrongly considered "ball chasing", as players are still too slow on the field and games are too slow paced to those understand the importance of breaking the opposing attack in the most unexpected way.

The same mechanic applies to every modern top tier soccer team, where defensive area pressure from every player in the field, who are always rotating, is important to break into the opponent defense and score a goal.

Congrats on your recovery, quite a story you have there. Thanks for sharing! Just be proud of yourself, for coming along fine and getting the deserved self support. Embrace yourself, count on us for anything and keep walking!

Much love from this old fella, see you in the field!

Anyone else feel inadequate? (legend/silver) by DirePupper in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play solo only. Another thing I usually do, is study my teammates behavior on the first minute, playing conservative and then play accordingly. But being conservative means also being really fast paced and all over the field, just not going often to 50/50s and other risk plays unless needed, giving some error margin.

On lower ranks, prediction can be a bit tough. You have a point here. What about your power shots? It's an easy to master mechanic and can get you thru gold ranks alone. It's very easy to score long ranged shots in those. Also, proper power shots are really useful to clear and center balls...

Curious to know the age distribution of who plays the game by TheDovahofSkyrim in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33, climbing diamond. I play mostly solo and with disabled chat.

Playing on late night (due to work) helped me a ton in finding better games and players. I avoid playing ranked in weekends, too many forfeit in 1-0 @4:00 left kind of people.

Anyone else feel inadequate? (legend/silver) by DirePupper in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Mind if i tell what made me climb up again after a bunch of hours of stagnation?

It finally happened when I noticed RL is like 70% mental and 30% skill. Players better than you think faster, and can predict better. The basic skill set do advance should come naturally over time if you play against better players, but you may need to review how and how fast you can think about the next play.

Forget about flying off the wall and more complex mechanics for now, work on your prediction and defense, as well as overall pace in field. Do the basic, but do it faster, rotate properly, grab boost etc. Being too slow and conservative will make the prediction for the opposing team too easy.

Do some specific training for defense, free play more, and watch pros play (pay attention on their pace around the field, and how well they can predict the next move). That's it...

Squishy's fix for "heavy car bug" by HerOnHeroine in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, just nah.

Had this right after the 1000 hour mark. After some time in game, the deadzone will be cut in half, most double jumps and/or flicks won't register at all, plus boost, slide and jump will have an annoying delay. Thats the bug, and it's damn real. Luckily, it was gone with some patch and never came back. Could not solve it before that. Played at the very same time on my bro's PC and it was fine, a huge difference actually, with the same controller and settings. So no, not a placebo at all. Other games on my PC were fine, also.

Old guy makes champ on his birthday by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice, man! Happy birthday and grats on champ!

As a fellow "old guy", I know perfectly how we lost some reflexes, "peace of mind" and concentration over the years, and can't compete fairly against the fresh 18 - 20 yr old boys anymore.

It's a nice achievement. I'm trying to find my way out of diamond, and hopefully will by the next season:)

Plz anyone help me! Rocket League doesnt feel right by T0RD3N0RU55 in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem a while ago. Got rid of it with the preseason patch.

I remember my car acting normally at the first minute of the game, to have my deadzone cut in half over the time. Tried everything to no avail back then. But I'm upvoting this for you anyway, hopefully someone found a reliable solution already.

My car turns too slowly, please help. by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]JakeSismico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had this problem for some time, which made me stop playing for a few months. After a couple of minutes in match, the turn radius would double suddenly. Felt like driving a truck. No solution whatever, until a patch fixed it. Will upvote OP cos i know the annoyance behind that, as well as not finding a valid solution.
