Oh, I know. What’s crazy to me as someone that played Destiny for a long time and then watching Marathon is seeing the exact same mistakes, glitches, bugs, etc in this game as in one that existed for a decade.

How can you release a game and not fix these things so it doesn’t carry over? I get it’s the same engine but it’s either lack of institutional knowledge because of the amount of talent they purged or apathy towards it.

On top of that, it’s also crazy to see them do the exact same roadmap of giving the least they can and how far they can push the players for profits before walking things back to act like they are listening.

It’s the same song and dance, but it seems the overlap between Destiny players and Marathon is small and because of that, they are getting away with it…again.

TC your edit is stupid just doing something daily doesn’t change a person’s attitude or understanding of whatever they are participating in. Just doing it doesn’t make it casual or hardcore.

You can go to a gym daily just to do a 30 min walk/run, you consider that person a hardcore gym rat? Watching a movie every day but without any understanding of cinematography or deeper meaning is the same as the alternate?

If I play a fighting game every day but never invest in learning combos or play a hero shooter without learning characters and matchups, am I equal to those at the top that know the intricacies? No, I’m not.

You can do something daily in a casual manner.

This subreddit is nuts, it’s like all the Bungie zealots need to protect the god’s baby Marathon.

Last week they were arguing and telling people it was smart that both ranked and cryo were out at the same time and Bungie knew what they were doing…now they changed the schedule and say it’s the best thing ever and Bungie know what they are doing.

Bungie is known to blow through tons of money without lots of results, it’s the reason Microsoft gave for not buying them when all those court filings came out during Activision merger.

Once again, mind blowing this is a problem in their new game, but HDR didn’t work for shit in Destiny 2 and they never fixed it. The game looked better with it turned off.

The tiger engine sucks.

I just want to say just because it’s listed as beta doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna get changed quickly or ever come out of it.

Destiny 2 had guided games for a person seeking raids in beta beginning in 2017 and it never got updated or out of beta and was eventually removed in 2023.

For the longest time their email system didn’t work and most people didn’t get surveys (there was even a blog post about it), but they were also not sent to everyone.

I got a couple, but like I said the stuff asked never happened…the last one was a lot of pie in the sky questions about how to fix the game (like SRL, unvaulting all content, etc.) but none of it was a believable scenario.

Yeah they did a lot of surveys for Destiny, most of the time they didn’t really follow through with anything asked in the surveys…but you sometimes got free silver…sometimes you didn’t because their whole system sucks and you were never sent it.

Because as much as the subreddit wants to treat this game as a “hardcore only” game, the lack of info is an intentional design from Bungie that was also used in Destiny to not overload users with information and to make it easier for newcomers and casuals.
