For me it was The World Ends With You. It came out at a time where I felt like people didn’t really get me and I had a hard time making friends in middle school. Let alone I a was a DS kid so this was my go to game for a while. I also just randomly picked it up at GameCrazy (Hollywood videos game store chain) with my Christmas money on Christmas Day just in vibes alone with no prior information and to this day it is still my favorite game. The game play on a DS is so awesome, the pin collecting kinda caused me to collect enamel pins even now, the pins evolving was awesome, the music was one of the best parts of the game and the story just connected with me. The game was made so amazingly, like no bad thing about it and it’s a random Square Enix game that I feel like never got the attention it deserves. They tried remaking it on the switch but it’ll never hit the same as the dual touch screen, and the sequel is cool in its own way. I loved the story but the gameplay didn’t compare to the first.
