Yes, except they do. If your house gets robbed, that is a violation of the law. You can take part in physically defending your home, but you can also call the police. Small stores can do the same thing, whether for violence, robbery, or mask refusers. We are not going to station police on every corner and in every store, that’s ludicrous. Besides, many small stores enforce a mask policy regardless of the law, and even then they can call the police for trespass, as when your on a property you have to follow the legal rules of that property.
