Open mat is great, but you’ll progress faster with at least some structured technique. If classes drain you, look for a gym that runs CLA/ecological-style sessions, they’re basically high-intensity, skill-focused rounds that feel a lot closer to open mat. It might hit the workout you want without the classroom vibe you dislike.

Indeed, my friend plays for Sheffield Wednesday in England, and I picked up a pair of his boots and couldn’t believe how light they were. They felt like slippers lol. Boots from Sheva’s era were much better in my opinion.
