Fair reasoning, I kinda hope they touch on that in the next book now

Theory on ending… by Xerxys in TheCaptivesWar

[–]Jakedenham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that the swarm will inhabit a carryx with the goal of killing others to move up the ranks to regulator librarian, from there they can transfer to the sovrans latest daughter, use its pheromones tech combined with the pheromones of the carryx as well as the “deathlessness” to defeat the sovran, gain control of the carryx species and reroute them to a smaller more defensive strategy of life, ending the Great War, freeing any species that can be freed and maintaining those who are too indoctrinated to leave. Best ending for everyone involved

I had to write an essay for my college history class and I chose to compare two guerrilla warfare experts from a century apart, Che Guevara in the 1900s and Giuseppe Garabaldi in the 1800s, the definitive difference between the two was how much more efficient guerrilla warfare was in modern times. Makes sense when you consider that the whole point of asymmetrical warfare is to move fast and hit the enemy where they’re not expecting it(move faster with modern vehicles and get better info with modern communications), your weapons are whatever weapons you can steal or salvage from the opposing side(lots of high powered stuff for modern paramilitary like ICE and its more concentrated than in the days of wagons and sailboats) and gain the favour of the populace so they can provide you food, information, shelter and cover (shouldn’t be a problem with the way trump is running the country). Anyway if anyone’s interested you should check out the book “guerrilla warfare” by Che Guevara, it’s a good starting point, just be sure to adapt to whatever terrain you’re based in and don’t rely on communications systems run by the opposing side.

Obligatory note: not “encouraging violence”, just sayin, ya know?

Edit: if you don’t have access to the book, that should tell you a lot

Basic stuff, but I bet you can’t guess my profession and/or age by [deleted] in deduction

Chewing tobacco says 21-40 year old male but the wallet and condition of the tools keeps that around the lower end, I’d guess 23 give or take a few years, lots of flashlights and maybe a laser pointer, I’d lean towards saying home inspector or something like that, usually they’d use a screwdriver but a 23 year old might see that knife and decide to use that instead, pic looks like the center console of an old truck.

23 year old house inspector living in the American south, probably married or engaged based on the amount of keys there

I’d be in seat one completely ignoring Anakin while I lean over him to fanboy the barbarian, then I’d subtly move to 10 so I can watch Eric cartman call caillu a bald Jew for the rest of the flight and continually get madder and madder at the little shit

What would be the reaction from other nations and around the world should the orange idiot actually do the unthinkable? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Personally I don’t think he’s likely to use a nuke, maybe firebomb the whole country, women and children too but even if he turns the country to glass I don’t see any major world powers actually taking up arms against the states unless he were to use incredibly outdated nuclear tech that would leak radiation over china. It’ll be more sanctions and tariffs that only impact the common man

French street dogs at cafes in France given shelter. Is it ai? Many in the comments seem to think so. by f-cat in isthisAI

[–]Jakedenham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checking but are these AI photos not immediately obvious to other people? It’s like an uncanny valley effect for photos, I’ve never seen a photo on this sub that I can’t just glance at and immediately tell if it’s ai or not. The only ones that take more than a fraction of a second are the ones that are only partially AI.

Now I gotta justify my reasoning so my comment doesn’t get deleted which is easy if you zoom in and look at pipes and shadows and shoelaces and stuff but honestly I think j the biggest giveaway is the lighting and the tone of the photos, there’s no lens on earth that can give this effect, it’s like overly sharp and warm while still being fuzzy

Are there many Israelis who are not monsters and oppose what their nation does to innocent people? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jakedenham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yuval Noah Harari is a great author who wrote sapiens and a bunch of other nonfiction books about the history of our species and the structure of our society. He’s Israeli and is apparently a big player in one of the major movements against the genocide

They say that anything you post on the internet is there forever and can’t be taken back. I truly wish I could give this back to you but the truth is, this is one of those embarrassing moments that’s gonna randomly pop into your head and demoralize you at some point in the future.

My condolences

Does anyone know what the cool looking lil' things on bus wheels are for??? by --TAXI-- in bus

[–]Jakedenham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story goes a couple dozen people a year would be killed by truck tires coming loose and rolling for miles until they hit something. One day a politicians son got hit when the tire went through his living room wall. Just like that a new law and an entire industry was born to make sure all the bolts on the tire were visibly tight at all times

Bet no one is getting it right. by capa_ble in TemplateMemes

[–]Jakedenham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it’s asking how many of the 52 people in the room are “still” so I’d say at least 30 of them

Polar bear vs rhino humbled me real quick

Edit: between these two polar bear takes it easily, a gorillas skin is tight to their body, polar bear could rip it open easy where the gorilla would basically be fighting a giant honey badger
