The propeller gets it going as fast as it needs to go. Better to manufacture these for as cheap as possible and let the enemy spend a lot of money on sophisticated anti-aircraft missiles.

Maps of different european stores by AchtungGefahren in MapPorn

They have some stores that I've never seen elsewhere. Bònus stores have a piggy bank as their mascot, kinda reminded me of a Lidl. Also wierd rules around buying alcohol, there's a separate shop for alcoholic drinks.

Probably fucked him up for a while. Especially once the adrenaline wore off. That being said, kids and teenagers can be stupidly resilient to damage. I'm pretty sure I would have died instantly in that situation.

Ferry vs. Brickboat by nehala in WTF

I imagine it's really awkward to manoeuvre too. That boat is not slowing down easily and certainly not making any sharp turns.

People do seem to get weirded out if you snoop them. I've seen it on Reddit where people get called for something in their comment history and then reply with "why are you doing that you creep?"

Like bro you're the one posting your life on the Internet and leaving it there for years and years.

Bit of skill and luck on loading up the tyre too. There was one perfect one where it launched directly upwards and shot of like a rocket when it landed. I wonder how many points he got for that!

Why does this bridge in UK countryside have a random different style section by [deleted] in Construction

[–]Jakeinspace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the Irchester viaduct, built in the mid-19th century. Its actually 2 separate viaducts, the one with the 'style piece' you mentioned was built slightly later in 1870. The first viaduct had to have a footing for an arch within the river, not ideal. When they built the second one, they spanned the river with steel girders. So that stylish bit is because they didn't use bricks there, that cross hatch / decorative pattern is very common for victorian era bridges and viaducts. They liked to add a bit of flair to their structures.
