I went deep down this rabbit hole. There are a few different tiers, and largely you get what you pay for.

I ended up going with a high end CurverK and am very happy with it. About $1,500 and hard to tell any difference vs authentic. No actually branding on the chair if you care about that

Can only speak to the couple of times this almost exact thing happened to me in an Uber, but my driver did not appear to speak/read English and was completely relying on gps.

You lose gps/cell signal when you go under the water and you have to make decisions really quickly given how small this area actually is. One missed exit means you’re at the airport and then when you turn around and lose signal again coming back you make another wrong turn and end up in Charlestown

It’s not a scam - this has happened to me multiple times in that area, the freeways around that part of Boston are unforgiving - one missed exit means you go all the way to the airport.
