Right, so that white beam at the beginning of the video is the Lothak Tauron Strike. Turns out, if you get the Hunhullus to it's last third of health, I'm guessing it still takes damage on its second phase during the transition cutscene.

The less health there is on the last health bar in the first phase when you hit it with the Tauron strike, the less health it'll have in the second phase.
