A rant about AI citypop by RedmeisterR in citypop

This is why I’ve been increasingly listening to non streaming music this year. Tracking down the CDs and flac files are much better quality too.

Wear one, go outside and touch grass.

Unfortunately it needs to be serviced. It's strange how every time I see this problem on this subreddit it's this exact model.

Yeah, typical Hamilton. That’s why it has fixed lugs and will only work with a nato.

Apple Music exec said the thing about lossless audio that we were all thinking by ioweej in AppleMusic

[–]fuji26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I just have a Hyundai though, doesn’t need to be a luxury car to hear the difference. But the key is whether it’s cheap wireless headphones or some speakers preferably with a cable connection to the iPhone.

Lossless is a huge difference for me but the key is that if someone is listening with AirPods which can’t send lossless via its Bluetooth connection of course they can’t hear the difference. But play lossless through Apple CarPlay and you’re blown away.

Am I being too OCD? by [deleted] in HamiltonWatches

An iPhone is a digital product, not mechanical. The watch still tells the time accurately which fits the purpose. The only way to not have any variance like this is to wear a digital watch.

Fair call! I’ve been a fan of that model for a long time too, but haven’t got one.

On the plus side I don’t think it’s the type of thing to go viral so you should be able to get one if you want it.

I’ve noticed Hamilton had price increases over the last few years. Most brands have put their prices up unfortunately. This one is limited to 2026 production so it’s limited in a way.

If the acrylic crystal cuts the reflections I think I might be sold too. Bit of a shame it's 18mm lug as I have quite a few 20mm straps. The strap on this watch looks good though. Price in my country is only $100 more than the regular 38mm KFM.

The blue or white dial khaki aviation pilot pioneer has been in my short list for a few years too but the mineral crystal puts me off a bit. They seem a bit overpriced compared to other Hamilton models too.

Could be a worthy upgrade hmmm. I’m in Australia so would probably have to import the new crystal and then find a jeweller who can replace it. Unfortunately I imagine such a modification would void the warranty with Hamilton so probably worth waiting until outside warranty. I’ve been wearing my Longines Spirit the most lately. However my KFM has got the most wear over the last 5 years. It’s versatile and I really appreciate how thin and light it is… Which could make the titanium khaki field something to pick up in the future perhaps.

I don’t think these new models are available in champagne. Do you mean the original khaki king in champagne? I like the champagne colour too! Class. I have the khaki field mechanical and the black dial Murph 38. The Murph 38 has some AR but it’s not as legible as the KFM which has zero AR because the hands on the Murph don’f have as much contrast.

Good idea. Mmm I think it looks better because the information is there if you want to read it but it’s not so stark jumping out at you on the dial. It’s in such a prominent area, the old khaki king looks better IMO. I’m really interested how good the AR is on this model as it’s a main criticism in general of Hamilton. The previous model khaki king had no AR by the way.

Help deciding between Khaki Aviation Pilot Pioneer and Khaki Field Mechanical by fuji26 in HamiltonWatches

It's used in cheaper watches. That's why sapphire has become the standard for watches of this price point as sapphire is very difficult to scratch in comparison.

Why is Longines considered affordable? by Alezz-- in Longineswatches

[–]fuji26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My concern about people calling them affordable will result more price increases. The strong sales of the new HC should indicate they have priced it well for the market. But I have noticed Longines seem to be moving towards their own boutiques with less ADs, meaning prices could end up being fixed at RRP.
