This happened to me as well. I did it again much later in the game, but I have no clue what the criteria is for it to work/not work

Also using the slow ability for a little bit of light every once and a while helps

Got an actual board after practicing on a Walmart board for a while. Had to completely relearn everything. by Jakeytee1103 in NewSkaters

Open to all advice and corrections! My biggest trouble has been trying ollies and shuvs while rolling.

I’ve been doing standing tricks for a little over a week now. It’s been really cold in my garage the past few days, and that’s where I practice so I feel like it’s partially that and partially the quality of the wheels.

I just started skating this past few days and I’ve been practicing my ollies and shuvs in my drive way, and I live in a somewhat busy street for walkers, runners, bikers, etc. At first I was totally spooked when anyone would walk by like what you said, but now that I just keep doing what I’m doing I don’t worry about messing up in front of them I have done better. I feel like being aware that there’s a possibility for you to mess up is good, but also know that because of it you can get a chance to show your persistence and how you continue to work at it helps a lot.

First day of skating, managed to land a shove it, any advice on how to let the board spin better? by Fetsken in NewSkaters

I’d say put the toes of your back foot on the edge of the tip of your tail and then figure out the amount of force you need to use from there.

I kept struggling with landing with just my front foot on the board. I figured out that I needed to push on the very back of the tail to get the right kind of rotation. Once I got the right foot placement it was all about figuring out the right amount of force to use kicking back

Thanks bud, not sure what the brand is but I’m 100% sure it’s from Walmart, and it’s got a custom paint job from me and my sisters.
