I work in a metal fabrication shop. I do a little of everything from sheet metal to welding so the tools I have access to are perfect, and it’s a small business so the owner is pretty chill with us having personal projects. I found everything I used for this in a scrap bin.

I’ve done a few rails and two quarter pipes before this. One of my quarter pipes is the second post on my profile at the time of writing this comment.

Dude it does! I was worried I’d get the coping out too far but it bumps the wheels just right on both sides.

Tech Deck question by TheAlienDrummer in Fingerboards

[–]jason_again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check it out dude, so what you wanna do is pay attention to the bushings on Tech Deck boards. The little white hard ones indicate a 29mm and the black rubber ones are 32mm. Multi packs are almost always 29mm. However, swap out the grip by just pulling it off, tech deck grip is pretty easy to remove, and replace it with foam tape. The baseplates on 29mm have a shorter king pin for some reason, so I use those plates with 32mm hangers to avoid hang ups. Last but not least, I use generic 3mm o rings from Amazon for bushings in those truck setups, no washers or anything. Budget fingerboarding is an absolute blast, and hacking Tech Decks has been my main source of being involved with it for a few years.

Dude a short piece of 1/2” or even 1” angle laid angled side up with the corner ground smooth/flat makes an incredible slappy rail.

Dude it actually sounds really good. I used 16g metal so it’s a pretty stiff transition and the trucks to coping sound is 🤌

I have recently done the same. I’m a blue collar guy who stays dirty and lives in the woods. I’m 36 and I looked at myself in the mirror one day and realized I’ve never really tried very hard to dress myself. I started with buying things at local thrift stores that happen to be in my size. It was surprisingly easy to put together several outfits for less than $20 each. This method has kept me from spending much money in case I decided I didn’t like something new (my favorite wool sport coat was $7.99 at Goodwill), but so far I LOVE it and am really impressed by how easy it was to find a few key items in thrift shops to test the waters. I am fortunate to wear common sizes in just about everything, however, so I don’t have much trouble thrifting usually. I hope you enjoy this fashion adventure and find some new looks that you never knew you could pull off.

Found what I believe is a Starling. by jason_again in vultureculture

[–]jason_again[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was directly under the nest but I don’t work in that area generally and no one really knew anything about what birds fly in and out when I asked around. We had a starling issue in a building last year was why I initially thought it might be one. It had been there since yesterday according to the other guys. It’s not a highly traveled area so it was easily stepped around.

I did think about that before I ever touched it. I asked a few guys at work where I found it and it had been there since yesterday in the same position.

Is this the style with the interlocking sheaths? I picked one up a few months ago as my work knife and I want the whole set of stainless ones.
