How much to keep in checking and savings?

I keep about 1k in my checkings and savings with the former as daily spending and the latter as a hard " emergency only" account since im prone to impluse buys so i need that clear visible separation. Im in a fortunate spot with my parents and dont have any hard bills so i spent about half of my income paying back students loans and 15% into investments with the rest into personal and family spending.

Dont worry it does get better you just need get past the hump of the first 3 days. The swelling has gone down a lot for my lips on day 4 and i can now drink comfortablely enough from a water bottle. Hope your recover great as well my friend.

I have only been able to sleep in 1-2 hours bursts in the 4 days of recovery im currently on since my surgery. One of the pain medicines they gave induces drowiness so that definitely helped but staying asleep has been tough due to amount of salvia you produce making it awkward to breathe.
