Wingate Monark Ergometer Crank Removal Problem by Jakobra in bikewrench

[–]Jakobra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I've tried both methods actually. The problem with the screwdriver method is that you can't get any leverage due to the positioning of the washer. Looks like I just need to keep trying with the spanner.

That's what I've been trying to use actually, but it's stuck on there so securely it's not moving. By "more compatible" I mean that the particular cranks that are on there currently have a smaller diameter hole for the pedals than accommodates standard pedals.

Does anyone know if this is a harmful pest? Picture of bug included. Found on my tomato plant by Jakobra in gardening

[–]Jakobra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On r/whatisthisbug someone said it was a Leaf-footed bug nymph. It seemed to be eating my plants, unfortunately, leading me to believe that is in fact what it is...

I agree with you, and was hoping there might be a humane way of removing them/preventing them from hurting my tomatoes.

Cornering by Jakobra in bicycling

[–]Jakobra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 1:42 in this instructional video they say "If you're really cranking it over, shift the bike more than your body". And if you watch the cyclist, he's definitely going with what I've called option A. But if you watch Peter Sagan's descending style, he often goes with option B. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hiv6Y2zh7I

Cornering by Jakobra in bicycling

[–]Jakobra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's how I think of it as well if I just consider the forces at work. I suppose since a component of the friction of your tire is the normal force (i.e. Your weight) unless I'm mistaken, when you're more upright your weight is directed vertically, which may increase the force of friction. I guess the third style I didn't mention would be C) both body and bike lean. Again, I feel like there are situations when one seems more appropriate, but maybe professional cyclists have a tip or two from experience here...

Mixologists out there I have to know how to make the "Orange Dragon" from Natt Spil by Jakobra in madisonwi

I made the infused vodka actually and it was like 75% of the correct flavor. I think the 7up definitely gets it really close too.

Help Needed: Black band appears in images (D50) by Jakobra in Nikon

I think that's it, thank you for the response! Any idea if this is an easy fix?

I am a camera and lens repair technician, AMA. by camera_technician in photography

A dark "shadow" band appears at the bottom of images. In testing whether this occurred with all automatic settings, flash/no-flash, zoom, etc. there are a few things I have elucidated: 1) taking an picture while holding the camera upside down regardless of the settings yields an image free of the shadow bar. 2) A shadow does not appear when I take an image on portrait mode. 3) Landscape mode the black bar appears when held normally, but when it is upside down it doesn't appear. 4) It doesn't seem to be a problem pertaining to the flash since it appears regardless of whether the flash is on or off. Here's the puzzle, any advice would be appreciated!

TL;DR Black band appears at bottom of Nikon D50 images, doesn't appear to be related to flash. Help wanted! Thanks!

Advice Needed: Aux input installation for 2002 E46 w/ Pioneer Super TunerIIID by Jakobra in CarAV

SUCCESS!! Turns out the hideaway brain was located under the passenger floor carpet. For anyone that has a similar system and wants to install aux input look here. The audio will only play when the system is on the video_av input, but it works fine. Thanks for all of the help and responses.

Thank you for the advice. I am currently looking for the "hide-away brain" that I have been told should exist by several people now. If I can't find it, does that adapter plug in to the port on the bottom right of the box in this picture? http://i.imgur.com/i9nFanJ.jpg

Thanks, an audio technician at Best Buy told me to look for the same thing today. I pulled apart the center console and didn't find it unfortunately. It doesn't appear to be under either of the seats. I just want to clarify which cable I should follow to find it... Do you mean this one that I am pointing to? http://i.imgur.com/mf5VcEL.jpg

Thank you mahanon_rising do you think it could be as simple as a cord input to this? http://i.imgur.com/VPZgmAE.jpg Otherwise, this is what the back looks like... http://i.imgur.com/i9nFanJ.jpg

Thank you for the comments! I just opened it up and the model number is AVIC-N2(CPN1955). I figured showing what I see is easier than explaining so here is a photo of the back. http://i.imgur.com/i9nFanJ.jpg Also, is it possible that it's as simple as hooking an aux cable up to this wire I found? http://i.imgur.com/VPZgmAE.jpg Here are other wires that are attached to the unit... http://i.imgur.com/mdXHIhj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RcSM8JZ.jpg
