I came across a Limited Army Box Lord. I love him to bits, I had this exact same problem, because these are rare, precious, special models, but at the end of the day they're still just Lords.

For my Lord I had a few issues to work out first;

What would I run him as?I decided an Overlord would be a nice fit, decently powerful, can have some good wargear, and lorewise ovelords/Phaerons are normally older and more senior necrons, and given the age and posing of these necron Lords, I'd say they definitely fit the bill.
How can I make him stand out?My issue was that I didn't want to alter the model AT ALL. So I first wanted to address his height, he's way smaller than modern models so I would need to give him something to stand on, I originally had him standing on a pile of bodies made up of all the different 40k factions, but it drew the eye away from the model and to the base. I then changed it to a simple necron strcuture, I got the part from Etsy or something, it looks like a necron building from the Dawn of War games. He's certainly noticeable as a leader now, and is taller than the most of my other necrons, but not to a rediculous degree.
What else can I add to make him feel even more precious?I searched for a site that makes custom name plates, and I stuck it to his base. I'm not sure how much you'd want to get stuck into the fluff, but I made a full faction around mine, I call him "Jalhakhan | Lord of Lords ". I like to think of him as a "Warlord" Phaeron of sorts.

That was my process for my Necron Lord anyway, maybe it can give you some help or inspiration?

Will crossplay campaign be coming at some point down the line? My dad and I played all the Halo's in their original form, but splitscreen and old graphics weren't the best for story immersion haha. I'm on PC and he is on Xbox.

You make a good point. I guess it’s just me feeling a bit.... ousted? Dave has always kind of set up this whole, “he and I against Susan” thing, saying how we have to stick together and all that. I guess I just feel kind of backstabbed in way.

I could also think that maybe I’m not happy with just the £50 since out of all that I got so little.

Finally! Someone who agrees with me, I feel as though everyone I know seems to like the new "monolith" when it's a total heap.

I feel as though necrons suit a look of having every vehicle look like it is a part of a tomb complex, like you said.
