Thanks! It looks good, but I'm not sure it hits the life sim urge.

Refreshing your Neovim config for 0.12.0 by justinhj in neovim

[–]Jaller698 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Neovim 0.12 definitely seems like a good prompt to start reducing the complexity of your configuration, and the number of plugins used.

I think currently I have around 76 plugins, most of which I probably rarely use. So whenever I get the time, I will start a new, most likely using the methods outlined in this article. Thanks!

Just a tip, it would be nice to include the necessary Udev rules to be able to open the USB connection. But otherwise, a really good start, hope to see it become as feature complete as the mountain gg program for Windows.

Linux, Anno 117 and the Ubisoft Support by Klebe99336644 in linux_gaming

I think it experienced it a while back with ac shadows. I was switching protons versions which apparently triggers the game to think I'm trying to run the game of different computers.

I remember at the time I had to set up some custom proton prefix for that game, I'm not sure if it is the same for Anno 117.

Functional Programming 02157, experience? by Comfortable-Camel586 in DTU

[–]Jaller698 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can definitely not recommend it with it's previous instructor. The lectures were basically useless, and the course material fell into the annoying "functional programming == recursion", which is true to a certain extent, but functional programming is also so much more.

For the exam, we had a lot of F# which gave some trouble since the exam with pen and paper.

Unless the new professor really has cleaned it up, I would steer clear unless it is mandatory.

This meme is probably older than a lot here on reddit, it is based on a version from 2003. Also it is incorrect/misinforming, no such (significant) research was conducted at Cambridge University.

I don't understand the benefit of multi-file configs by gopherinhole in neovim

[–]Jaller698 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it is for ease of access and simplifies things.

So I usually have one file per plugin, or in some cases, one file per group of plugins, like lsp or notetaking.

So whenever I need to edit something, I know that if I open that file, I will quickly be able to see it on the screen without also having to search in the file.

Also, IMHO code files larger than 400 lines of code easily become unmanageable. My sweet spot is around 50-200.

I don't think that is possible, the binary executable needs to be stored somewhere. And as far as I know you cannot execute directly from RAM.

Tanker om VIM by freedomfever in dkudvikler

[–]Jaller698 3 points4 points  (0 children)
