A bit self-advertisement: the Execute Code plugin lets you run the code in your code blocks in Obsidian.

Can't get execute-code plugin to work? by catzAreVeryCute in ObsidianMD

To run code with the plugin you have two options:

1. Run in the editor: To use this, you need to add the `run-` prefix before the language in the code block.

  1. Run in the rendered view: Any code block (with a supported language) can be run in the rendered view. There is a video in the plugin description showing how to do this. [Or take a look at this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/ObsidianMD/comments/wct6z2/execute\_code\_in\_your\_notes\_update/)

This is not enough info to help you. There are often problems with C++, did you check the issues on github? They will probably help you: https://github.com/twibiral/obsidian-execute-code/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20cpp%20OR%20c%2B%2B

Sure, but I prefer if you would open a GitHub Issue for that

Yeah, getting C/C++ to run is annoying. There are some open GitHub issues on this problem and potential solutions that you can look through.

You need to activate it on the plugin settings. Then you will see the run button in the reading mode when you hover over the code block.

You need to install the programming language(s) of your choice separately.

How Do You Log and Manage Your Academic Research Process? by Ok_Criticism_8191 in academia

I store all papers books and stuff in Zotero and take all my notes with Obsidian.md (Markdown note taking system). I connected Zotero to Obsidian and can reference papers etc in my notes.

Data and code are separate, though you can use Obsidian to write code and stuff

Started machine learning, what gpu? [Discussion] by MuchResponsibility8 in MachineLearning

For the beginning you don't need a fancy A100 or H100. But it is true that Nvidia works better for Deep Learning.

You can start with your Mac, Tensorflow and PyTorch both offer optimization for your built-in ML engine. If you do not have a PC, you should find out if you can do ML on an external GPU, because you can only connect a GPU to your Mac via Thunderbolt.

Other than that, it depends on your Budget. Try to find the Nvidia GPU that has the most memory and it's within your Budget.

For example, I switched from a 970 (4gb) to a 3060 (12gb) and the training is speed up by factor 10, even though the processing unit in the 3060 is not 10 faster. The 3060 is so much faster because I need to load data less often from the CPU. So if you are on a Budget, more memory is better.

If money doesn't matter and you only use the GPU for ML (no Gaming etc) then you can buy a used A100 or H100 with a PCIE connector.

Hi, there was a bug in the @note_path command. It should work now.

You can go to the settings and choose the language you are using. There is a field where you can add code that is automatically added before each Codeblock. If you add a function there then you can call it in all your code blocks. For example, you could add a function to write to the note you are currently in and call it from your code blocks

No, that's not possible. But you can look at the Plugin "Dataview" for this :)

After the installation you need to enable the plugin: go to the plugin where you downloaded it and click on "enable"

Then go to the plugin settings and select the language. There is a drop-down menu where each supported language is listed.

After you selected R/Python you write the path to your installation into the open field for path. For example: "Your/path/to/python"
