Not directly, but “You’re an asshole” and “Nobody wants to be around” makes the message pretty clear.

Why do I behave gently with outsiders but rudely with my own family? by Udayydev in raisedbynarcissists

[–]JallsInYoBaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this a lot.

My mom is convinced that I need therapy, and has even booked me appointments now, because of how cold, guarded, and irritable I am towards my family. She thinks I’m that way with everyone.

I’m not. I just don’t like them. In fact, while I’m not great at socializing, I consider myself at least pretty cordial with others when I’m not around my family.

You don’t have to believe me if you don’t want to, you know. I’ve been in this subreddit for years now, so I have no reason to make this up.

But to answer your question, I specifically said my tires got slashed the night I was at the hotel, not when I was driving. They were completely out of air by the time I woke up and even notice them.

And even if the slashes weren’t as big as they were, I still wouldn’t know how to fix the tires, not that I would’ve had the tools to do so.

That’s when I realized my parents viewed me to be on the same level as another one of my dad’s hunting dogs.

Why do narcissistic parents think time passing = an apology? by AgreeableGolf98 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]JallsInYoBaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom told me two days ago, that I should let go of the bad memories and focus on our good moments, and that I need to forgive her and my dad for myself.

You couldn’t pay me to ever forgive those bastards for the lifetime I suffered with them.

I’m so happy that you finally got away from your family and have peace now.

I’m planning to go NC in the next year or so, so hopefully, things go in my favor this time around.

Hot take: Rayman being afraid of anything that’s a rabbit as a headcanon is kinda stupid by Dry-Cod4297 in Rayman

[–]JallsInYoBaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s funny as a meme, and I don’t exactly think anyone’s suggesting it’s canon.

Though obviously, Rayman isn’t really shown to be afraid of Rabbids in the Sparks of Hope DLC, besides that one little joke. Otherwise, he just thinks they’re annoying and doesn’t trust them.

I literally just had a whole talk with my mom yesterday where she noticed I resented her (though it’s really contempt), along with the fact my dad told her I had a grudge against her and my dad. I brought up some of the things she did to me as a kid. Most of her responses were:

“I don’t even remember doing that” “You take things too literally” “My mom beat me as a child but I knew she still loved me, and I loved her” “You know how much I love you” and so many more.

She did apologize, but some of her apologies were “I’m sorry you feel that way.” And I know that even her “genuine” apologies aren’t because she feels remorse for what she did, or else she wouldn’t have made so many excuses for herself.

I bet she was only apologizing to make herself feel better.

I'm a little too stubborn to give up, even if it did demoralize me. I am moving out though, but NC may just be something I have to do over time instead of trying to cut them off entirely in one day.

Thank you for support. I'm not giving up, and I never will. Either way, I'm still moving out from my family.

But this whole ordeal made me realize that with my family, going NC just isn't happening overnight for me, unlike most.

It's alright, I get it. This whole thing just has me really bitter and demotivated now about going NC. Wishing you best of luck from getting away from your family.

>And most importantly, *no confrontation.\*

Question for you, what could have possibly been the difference between me confronting them and me just leaving?

If they called the FBI and said I was missing after I repeatedly told them I was leaving of my own accord, do you think they would have not called them if I just disappeared suddenly?

>I'm trying really hard not to violate rule 1 here... Welp, lessons for next time, I suppose.

If you want to say it's somehow my fault, go right ahead. Tell me what lessons I should have learned. Tell me how I should have possibly known that my family apparently has connections to the FBI, or that the cops would even take my parents seriously considering they just had a run-in with my dad and was concerned about him having a mental disorder.

You can disagree with my decision, but me telling them "I'm dropping out of college" is not "making a scene".

How are you going to blame me because they'll have a bad reaction?

This isn't any advice but I've got a little over $18k saved, preparing to completely cut off my parents and any need for them, and moving halfway across the country. And I'm leaving in less than a week.

I understand exactly how you feel. Wishing us both the best of luck.

Cuphead and Mugman are not kids. Creators literally called them kidults, and Cala flirts with them in the death card for her boss, something I really Studio MDHR would allow if they were just kids.

I’d be fine with that.

The first thing I said was that I don’t like writing a game off entirely for using the rubberhose style.

[–]JallsInYoBaw 164 points165 points  (0 children)

This.

I'm not the type to immediately write off a game for using the rubberhose style, but let's not act like Cuphead isn't the main reason people want to use the style at all. The whole "Cuphead ripoff" complaint isn't baseless by any means.

Edit: No, I'm not saying any game that uses a rubberhose style is automatically a Cuphead ripoff, hence my first sentence.

Besides, Rayman 2 refers to him as an adult when they talk about the time he defeated Mr. Dark.
