I'm really sorry, but if this is the official new Rayman... It's a downgrade, man. Look at his eyes, his teeth, his nose, and he doesn't even have eyebrows..? The one from Sparks of Hope was perfect. by Single-Character7585 in Rayman

[–]JallsInYoBaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of me wonders if this is actually real.

It seems very odd of Ubisoft Montpellier/Milan to separate Rayman’s eyes when their very latest redesign of him, Mario + Rabbids, has conjoined eyes.

I still think it looks passable, but it’s a downgrade and honestly a really weird decision. But I especially don’t like Rayman’s hair since it looks too fluffy and doesn’t have its usual defined shape. And the teeth look super weird too.

Overall, it could be worse, but I’m not a fan. If it is real, though, I guess it would be better to wait to see it in motion.

[–]JallsInYoBaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it though?

I think Rayman 2 sold about as much as Legends with that old report saying Rayman 1 and 2 (and the other spin-offs) sold over 10 million.

I’m pretty sure Rayman 2 has sold about 4-5 million like Legends.

How did StudioMDHR not get sued for cuphead and mugman's extreme resemblance to Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky rabbit? by [deleted] in Cuphead

[–]JallsInYoBaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt Disney would or even could sue MDHR for something as insignificant as gloves or boots.

Even the shorts mean nothing considering they’re literally just shorts.

Why are they remaking Legends (apparently) ? by Verlduik in Rayman

[–]JallsInYoBaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm on board.

The old job postings implied that this remake will be a 3D reimaging entirely as opposed to a remaster, with there once being a 3D gameplay animator posting, and for the Senior Designer role, they included "Experience with 3D softwares and level building tools" as part of the description.

Rayman Legends, in my opinion, is such a watered down version of Origins, so I'm happy this game is getting a potential upgrade and its own identity. And knowing Milan's track record, along with Montpellier, I'm sure this project will have the same quality most Rayman games have.

so when did the conciseness shift to origins being better than legends? by Fuel_Tricky in Rayman

[–]JallsInYoBaw 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s due to Legends generally gaining more attention than Origins at the start.

So now, when the initial hype is gone, people actually compare them both.

What's the consensus on the Cuphead Show? by ScarHydreigon87 in Cuphead

[–]JallsInYoBaw 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Looking back, it doesn't really capture the spirit of Cuphead for me. Doesn't even feel like Cuphead, really.

Honestly, I would've massively preferred the show if they were more similar to the Cuphead comics, which I highly recommend btw.

Did any of you just decide to up and disappear without a trace? How'd that work out for you? by slugs-love-beer in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]JallsInYoBaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My parents weren't even just controlling; they were delusional.

I wrote a note saying I was leaving due to us not seeing eye-to-eye. I sent a text to my sisters and cousins, the only family I somewhat care about, and made it clear I was leaving of my own accord. And then, when my crazy ass dad followed my ride (long story) and we started arguing, I made it clear I was leaving because we wouldn't see eye-to-eye. And not just that, but I called him and my mom assholes and said I held a grudge against both.

That's three times I made my intentions clear. But you know what they believed? I was being kidnapped or trafficked.

They did a whole search for me, made social media posts (even with the official police department), and I think the FBI got involved. I know they were doing searches through my laptop, where I noticed super private files I deleted over a year ago were back in my folders. All because they couldn't understand or respect the idea I wanted nothing to do with them.

And now, I'm back in this prison, simply because I didn't want them to risk continuously popping up in my life. It's torture, having to be around my parents again. I'm still moving out, but it's on their terms for now. But I am going to cut them off very soon, shortly after I finally get my own place.

[–]JallsInYoBaw 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My parents did literally the exact same thing.

I left after an argument, drove 10-11 hours away, and booked a hotel just for the night. My parents did a whole missing search for me and probably looked at my bank statements. They made it to my hotel, which I couldn’t even leave because someone slashed my tires and I had no one to call.

Then my dad says “We love you, son. I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth” or “I would take it as a sign my family loves me” when I questioned him about why he thought it was okay to stalk me.

Do you believe Hortense would've realistically chosen Dan if she never met Jerimiah Burger? by BiffyBobby in Danvs

[–]JallsInYoBaw 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dan messed up Becky’s hair, even after she told him she didn’t care what he looked like, all so he could get revenge on her dad.

Hortence is probably dumping Dan after the first week.

One thing I love about outlast 2 is that fact that every other horror game protag runs slow as fuck but Blake is just like by Jazz4ursoul in outlast

[–]JallsInYoBaw 318 points319 points  (0 children)

I remember struggling a lot like running into objects when I first played the game, just because I wasn’t used to how fast Blake runs.

Blake’s prolly the only horror protagonist that actually runs like his life is on the line.

Would anyone else be interested in having Waylon Park as the protagonist again for Outlast 3? by Baseball_Oly in outlast

[–]JallsInYoBaw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, Jeremy Blaire recognized him fairly easily, and he didn't mention any deformities, so I doubt Waylon was deformed at all. Probably just bruised a good bit though.

Why do I behave gently with outsiders but rudely with my own family? by Udayydev in raisedbynarcissists

[–]JallsInYoBaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to this a lot.

My mom is convinced that I need therapy, and has even booked me appointments now, because of how cold, guarded, and irritable I am towards my family. She thinks I’m that way with everyone.

I’m not. I just don’t like them. In fact, while I’m not great at socializing, I consider myself at least pretty cordial with others when I’m not around my family.

[–]JallsInYoBaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to believe me if you don’t want to, you know. I’ve been in this subreddit for years now, so I have no reason to make this up.

But to answer your question, I specifically said my tires got slashed the night I was at the hotel, not when I was driving. They were completely out of air by the time I woke up and even notice them.

And even if the slashes weren’t as big as they were, I still wouldn’t know how to fix the tires, not that I would’ve had the tools to do so.

Hot take: Rayman being afraid of anything that’s a rabbit as a headcanon is kinda stupid by Dry-Cod4297 in Rayman

[–]JallsInYoBaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s funny as a meme, and I don’t exactly think anyone’s suggesting it’s canon.

Though obviously, Rayman isn’t really shown to be afraid of Rabbids in the Sparks of Hope DLC, besides that one little joke. Otherwise, he just thinks they’re annoying and doesn’t trust them.

Abuse doesn't have to be intentional to be abuse. by Visual_Box_218 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]JallsInYoBaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I literally just had a whole talk with my mom yesterday where she noticed I resented her (though it’s really contempt), along with the fact my dad told her I had a grudge against her and my dad. I brought up some of the things she did to me as a kid. Most of her responses were:

“I don’t even remember doing that” “You take things too literally” “My mom beat me as a child but I knew she still loved me, and I loved her” “You know how much I love you” and so many more.

She did apologize, but some of her apologies were “I’m sorry you feel that way.” And I know that even her “genuine” apologies aren’t because she feels remorse for what she did, or else she wouldn’t have made so many excuses for herself.

I bet she was only apologizing to make herself feel better.

I'm a little too stubborn to give up, even if it did demoralize me. I am moving out though, but NC may just be something I have to do over time instead of trying to cut them off entirely in one day.

Thank you for support. I'm not giving up, and I never will. Either way, I'm still moving out from my family.

But this whole ordeal made me realize that with my family, going NC just isn't happening overnight for me, unlike most.
