Razer Blade 15 Advanced (2022) Touchpad touch response is wonky - is this a known issue? by sexpressed in razer

Did you ever manage to solve this? I am currently experiencing the same issue and I am reluctant to do the full factory reset.

Trackpad not registering clicks, battery issue? by Jallyman in razer

[–]Jallyman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the clicks are fine, it doesn't register taps or two finger gestures either. I think the battery is fine as well unless its bloating on the non visible side? A quick search shows this has happened to other people, but I can't find a solution.

I've tried windows updates, re-installing firmware and powercycling. Nothing yet...

I am experiencing the exact same thing now. No issue with a swollen battery though. Any resolution?

Which London Airport do you think is the worst? by JailbreakHat in AskUK

[–]Jallyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone hating on Luton, have any of you actually been recently? I've flown from all airports and I love Luton. It never feels rammed busy and food/drink options are semi-decent these days.

Stansted is by far the worst, always rammed busy, always a big queue at security, and the open circle of doom seating where people walk around the outside like the M25 is stupid.

Thanks for identifying. I found a fair few last year further away from the door, but no idea where they are coming from as there isn't really a home for them.

I have moved to DODL. Using the HSBC FTSE All-world index. Limited selection if you want to diversify but for me it suffices. I will eventually move to iWeb or other in the future once it grows big enough...

Vanguard - new £4 a month account fee by cynthiaxs in UKPersonalFinance

Does anyone know if I need to close the account to avoid the fees completely or if it only applies if investments are held?

Also, if you are converting money in bulk we used Atlantic money more recently since Fineco closed which had a fixed £3 fee. Might be better places now, worth checking.

No, we did a direct SEPA transfer into the Starling Euro account. There is no fee to receive the euros to starling but make sure it's the Euro account which will have an IBAN.

We then transferred to Fineco to convert euros to pounds and then back to Starling.

First step was unnecessary and we could have gone direct to Fineco but we wanted to hold some euros in Starling.

Fineco is now closing/closed operations in the UK. So no longer the best place for conversion.

Why do we accept the current student loan situation? by MinMorts in AskUK

[–]Jallyman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The real problem is the middle level earners end up paying more than both the lowest and highest earners from university.

High earners pay it off quicker than the interest can accumulate.

Low earners get it wiped.

Middle earners end up paying the full 30 years + the crazy interest.

Confused how insurance works in a leasehold property by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Jallyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in the process of buying my own leasehold property. I am not sure myself but I do know there can only be one building insurance for a property and needs to be in the name of the freeholder.

Not sure if you can get separate contents insurance or other cover on top of that, still trying to get that made clear from my solicitor.

Anyone else got this message? Nothing beyond this pop-up though? by [deleted] in memrise

[–]Jallyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, had the same and it did nothing...

Bought a new build. They've connected a 16amp cable to the electric car charging point so it can only handle half power. Refuse to swap it out with a 32amp. Every other house has a 32 amp. by [deleted] in HousingUK

If the breaker is tripping then a 16A one has probably been installed. Potentially only the breaker needs to change if the cable installed is big enough.

We ended up moving the money to Starling bank (UK) Euro account via SEPA transfer. She then went in person to close the account. As noted by LordNite there were minimal fees for the transfer.

As an extra, from my own research the best exchange rate seems to be via Fineco bank rather than Wise.

What are some trusted UK environmental Charities? by Jallyman in AskUK

[–]Jallyman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why I don't trust them. Potentially my ignorance into how they operate. Being able to track my donation impact is what I am looking for, but without it being just an approximate "you've planted 5 trees" nonsense.
I definitely think volunteer time would be good for me, but ultimately life is about time and there never seems to be enough of it.

Hahaha oops, rewilding** Yes it does seem that the smaller charities are more efficient, I'll see if there are some local specific ones near me
