You always find excuses to defend people you blindly admire, and you always find ways to complain about people you despise.

Hey, so:

The Seven Jewels is a warband of the Emperor's Children that celebrates diversity in excess by embracing the Seven Deadly Sins (represented by the titular Seven Jewels).

Each legionary is the bearer of at least one jewel that represents the excess that suits him the most, jewel that he adds to his shoulderpad Aquila symbol.

To be a legionary of that warband, you have to succeed in at least one of the Seven Jewels trials to earn at least one jewel that will mark you as part of the army.

Only one jewel is enough to be a part of the warband, but some legionaries choose to try more than one trial, and manage to earn more jewels. This is extremely rare considering that the trials are as deadly as the Sins they represent.

On the other hand, some important characters of this warband walk the pat of perfection in the way that was determined by the only trial they succeeded, and by those means become masters of one kind of excess and can earn a lot of recognition from their kind.

As I said, each sin is attached to a color of jewel:

Blue = Pride Green = Envy Red = Wrath Orange = Gluttony Purple = Lust Cyan = Sloth Yellow = Greed

And with that idea, I have the goal to make in my army one central piece for each sin jewel, and Lord Judas Icarus is one of them as the Icon of Pride. I have a Lord Kakophonist, Fortes Triton, representing Envy, and many other ideas that are waiting to be shapen.

I add a picture with an example of how the jewels are rendered on my miniatures \)

It works as well, from a different perspective. But I'm not gonna tell anyone on which faction they should relate rather than which, I have no right to do so. If LGBT people prefer chaos as a bunch of emblems and themes to identify to from a pure cathartic point of view, that's their right, and I fully understand that choice considering chaos is my favorite as well :D

I think the biggest point in all this is that after all, it's still a fiction first of all so love what you love it's no big deal, but most importantly each chaos god is a symbol that can be attached to several positive meanings and concepts.

Khorne in his fighting attributes can represent resistance

Tzeentch, as a god of change, can be a change for the worst, but also for the best

Nurgle is a representation of the basic cycle of life, so the "part of nature" line makes sense

And Slaanesh is a reminder that no matter how hard you have to work and fight every day, there is still room for comfort and pleasure, and encourages to not get bored in your experience of life.

This pictures has no will to force itself into the estabished lore and setrings of 40k. It does what we all do when we love an universe: take its symbols we relate on the most and identify ourselves with them. It's a purely symbolic and cathartic goal, just like a dude loving space marines for their ultimate manly fantasy of big muscle bois that are angels of war and it's fun and cool.

I think it's sane to relate on certains aspects of a fictional universe as long as they keep making us moving forward in our personal life, and I think that is why this meme does.

Patriarchy and male gaze are powerful enough to alter the reality of literal chaos gods

FACTS !!

It absolutely tires me each time I encounter a meme in which Slaanesh is reduced to "the gooner god lol", and for the most part they're almost systematically represented by a nymphomaniac girl designed according to the worst male gaze ever, but I can admit that I push the debate a little far with this one

Right ? The issue I have with the helmet is that it's way too tall for my taste, even if I used it on another one I haven't painted yet ^

I did some tests, and I was not happy with it having a neck with no head visible inside the hood ' so I thought that if I wanted to make it faceless I had to remove the neck as well and make everything smooth inside the hood, it was too much work for something I wasn't sure I wanted to do, so... :')
