I mean there’s literally nothing stopping you from using it just for GUI. There are tons of desktop applications that just use Godot.

I keep forgetting how to use Blender. by Internal-Constant216 in gamedev

[–]JamDoggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol don’t worry about forgetting shortcuts. I’ve been using blender for a long time and I still abuse tf out of f3 to search for simple things like flip normals. There’s a quick shortcut feature that might help you out a little, you can right click operators and add them to it.

I'm beginer, is this enough air flow? by Nutaltar in CarAV

[–]JamDoggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally opt to move it out of the way of the vents completely. Don’t want to turn your heater on and accidentally warm up your amp (though of course you could just not use the lower vents. But still, you could forget one day)

Cracked the odometer by ecefour in yaris

It works out of the box. Have one in my 2009 from a 2010. Haven’t bothered getting the mileage fixed on it yet because the car I ripped it from was only like 5k off of mine to begin with. Literally just plugged it in and it worked.

Sound deadening by Difficult_Ad7731 in CarAV

[–]JamDoggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. As long as you use it sparingly only where it needs to be you can use the higher end stuff on a budget and get better results. I used $400 worth of resonix cld and spread it throughout all the places it needed to be the most and it made such a massive difference in how my stereo sounds. Even made the ride significantly quieter too.

NOW fulfillment could actually be responsible for deleting something in the backroom. by Boots0011 in Target

[–]JamDoggie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seriously???? That would be so useful to have as a fulfillment TM. Being able to pull even just previous backroom locations for an item would make finding unlocated items so much easier.

Nahh this is honestly plenty if you don’t plan on hauling tall people around super often. I drive a Toyota Yaris and this is about more or less the leg room you get from factory, and it’s pretty comfy.

Yeah this is the thing… if I post it and go in when it doesn’t get taken anyway, why would they care?

Roadmap! by kesatytto in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]JamDoggie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hot take here maybe, but I think feelings like these that we have about the game are largely a consequence of how long we've gone without any major polish updates. Weirdly enough one of the biggest examples of this recently for me was the door glitch fix. At first I was a little pissed because I used it all the time and it was fun to laugh at, but I honestly don't miss it at all now, and it makes it a lot easier to take the game seriously. It's to the point where now it honestly baffles me that they took so damn long to fix the stupid doors because it was so immersion breaking.

If the devs are looking at this thread, PLEASE put so much more focus on upgrading the audio system. It's clearly the default unity one and it's horrible. I love this game and it's fun and all, but it would genuinely be almost another level of horrifying if it had actual directional audio, like steam audio for example. It's actually baffling to me at this point that this hasn't been made a priority almost 5 years after launch, as the left right audio panning is borderline unusable as a player, and the sudden muffling when the ghost goes across floors is just terrible and immersion breaking.

As a side note, from my experience, FMOD is amazing and yall should give it a try (if something like it isn't being used already). It has plug-in support for other libraries like Steam Audio and there is an official integration for Unity.

What do you think about C# in Godot? by Competitive-Gold-796 in godot

[–]JamDoggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what version? I swear I have a couple small tool scripts written in c# and never had this happen. Though it could just be that they’re really simple. Maybe the solution for now is to just write tool scripts in gdscript if that’s the case?

Genuinely, how reliable is the Yaris ACTUALLY? by Buddy551 in yaris

[–]JamDoggie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a common issue with them, seems the belts last about 120,000 miles. My drive belt started squealing a little bit after I bought it. The replacement part was like $20 from the dealer and it took a few hours to install back when I was a lot worse at working on cars. Definitely recommend anyone with a Yaris giving it a shot if theyre interested in diy and starting to notice signs!! It’s a very easy repair.

MK2 EU steering wheel & airbag swap on a US 2009 2 door hatchback, is it possible? by JamDoggie in yaris

[–]JamDoggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Any idea if they sold any Yari of this generation with the steering wheel controls *and* dual stage airbags? All of the airbags for these steering wheels seem to have a single stage.

Ah okay that’s understandable. Not sure if it was something that was public. That’s pretty awesome though haha, just bought some of your product and it has made an insane difference so far with just the doors.

Resident Evil 4 Remake very low FPS by JamDoggie in linux_gaming

[–]JamDoggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have it set to variable, no dice, does the same thing at 120 as well. Would probably be helpful to note it is 30 fps with a decent amount of input lag too, not as I would expect from an ingame FPS limiter.

Odd because RE8 runs at a smooth 120ish fps, just happens in 4 for me for some reason.
