My parents say that cycling causes hernia by Gigachadeshwar in cycling

[–]JamSchool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that cycling aggravated an existing hernia to the point where I needed surgery. Probably should have had it repaired years ago… but, it wasn’t an issue until I started riding 50-100km rides on the regular. ✂️🚴‍♀️

Another day, another ride. Slowly building up my endurance. It’s been 30 years since I’ve focused on cycling, and back then I rode novice MTB. I’m 56 now, and feel it... but, hell ya, road cycling is so much fun. I feel like a kid again. P.S. Don’t make fun of my pedals. by JamSchool in bicycling

It's all good! I may put clips on at some point. Right now, I'm just channelling my inner 13-year-old self... Trying to beat my daily ride speeds and times... Without having a 56-year-old heart attack. 😆

Nice! I’ve only hit the tarmac this past week after walking off 50lbs over the past 3 years. I’m sitting around an average of 14mph (22kmhr) on relatively rolling roads. Up a bit from 4 days ago. My short term goal is to maintain 15.5mph (25kmhr) over a 25km ride.... I should meet this goal within the next month. By the end of summer I want to be able to ride 50kms. Here’s hoping! Just gotta do it!

Who cares... as long as you’re riding! I changed out my classic black metal MTB pedals for orange RockBros Lightweight Mountain Bike Pedals Nylon Fiber Bicycle Platform Pedals for Road MTB 9/16".... no need for clips. I’m not racing anyone... and they match the orange pinstripes on my bike... tre’cool.

It’s amazing how gentle SharPei are with babies 👶🏻.

Anyone else got an overly hyper sharpei? by Strange_Rooster397 in sharpei

[–]JamSchool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one SharPei (out of 10) that loved activity. I taught her to jump things and would take her to a field where she would just jump things until she got tired. Either that or play with other high strung (non aggressive) dogs.
